SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. OLD AND NEW

OLD AND NEW

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 8:7-13
Devotional:- “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.” (V. 7) NKJV

Whenever you open your Bible, you see Old Testament and New Testaments. The word testament is the same as covenants. It is therefore old covenants and new covenants. The old covenant is a shadow for the new. In other word, what God gave us in the new covenant have preparation shadow effect that is made substantial in the New Testament.

In the Old Covenant, it was the life of the animals that have been sacrificed. Thereby, some men have taken it to be a little thing to do. So, they know when they sin, it is a matter of an animal and God will overlook. In the New Testament is sealed by the blood of Jesus. That is why after been saved, you cannot keep going back to sin, else, the person may lose the grace of salvation (Romans 6:1-2; Luke 9:62).

Jesus said “He has not come to abolish the Old Testament but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). The blood of Jesus that purchase God’s covenant right for us has given us the grace of God which gives us access to the blessing of God not withstanding our past as long as we repent. All blessings both in the old and new are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). Just do your part of the covenant to obey the Lord in all you do. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be faithful to be able to enjoy all your blessings.
