PROTECT YOUR HEART

Image
PROTECT YOUR HEART  Proverbs 4:20-27 Devotional:- “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (V. 23) NLT      Everyone is born with a strength capable of rising to greatness. In every growing child is a seed of greatness. It is this strength that makes the youth so creative and energetic. That is why each young person looks at the future with great hope. The enemy tries to destroy this strength. As strong as many started in life, not many could strike the chord of success because their strength was destroyed.

YOUR CHURCH

Image
YOUR CHURCH 1 Corinthians 15:47-58 Devotional: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (V. 58)      As a kingdom citizen, God has planted you in your church to be part of the work force. These are people who labour to see the business of the kingdom of God established and moving forward, especially in the house of God. This is taking care of the members of the body of Christ. It is this members of the Church body that is called the church. The focus of the church should be to worship the king of the Kingdom, to maintain unity and harmony in the family; to raise the members as disciples of Jesus; to motivate them to be involved in outreach ministries and mission work. This is quite enormous and it demands the commitment of mature Christian in the workforce.

YOUR OFFICE

Image
YOUR OFFICE Ephesians 6:6-9 Devotional: "with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,” (V. 7)      Remember the purpose of your working is that God might be glorified (Matthew 5:16). That is why your work must be good enough for the glory of God. Every kingdom citizen should be mindful of this. Our work in the office must not bring shame and dishonour to the Lord. Thank God for the salary, but your purpose in that office is far bigger than that.

YOUR COMMUNITY

Image
YOUR COMMUNITY Daniel 6:1-5 Devotion: "and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss.” V.2      As citizens of the kingdom of God, we are in this world as an ambassador of heaven to represent God on the earth (I Corinthians 5:20).  Therefore we are not in this world to be an unlooker, but a participator of all affairs in the world.  Our God is the creator of this world (Genesis 1:1), and so, as sons and daughters of the most high, we are the owner of this world, that is why we must not live the affairs of this world to the devil and his disciples.

GREATER WORKS

Image
GREATER WORKS     John 14:12-21 Devotional – "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (v. 12)      As citizens of the kingdom of God, it is expected of us to do greater works on the earth. Greater works here means, doing more than Jesus did on earth. This could be both in quality and in quantity. Let us not forget the purpose of our work on earth. It is to bring glory to the Lord who we are representing on the earth (Matthew 5:16).

PROFIT ORIENTED

Image
PROFIT ORIENTED Matthew 25:14-30 Devotional: "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.'” (V. 20)      Work will not be encouraging or motivating enough if it is not making profits. Everything we have is given to us by God but it is as we work smart to make profit that we are rewarded. So many people don't bother about profit. People think work is a place you just resume at, either you do anything or not does not matter. At least they have come to work, so, they just come to sleep. This is a very wrong mentality. God want us to be profit oriented.

WORK SMART

Image
WORK SMART Psalms 119:97-104 Devotional: "You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me.”  (V. 98)      To work smart is to use our mind as we work i.e. taking our thinking along when working. It is to be able to do the same job people do, in a better, faster and cheaper way with a sense of dynamic innovation. It is to get result by engaging your intellect as you work. It is to put excellence into your work to make it excel or stand out (Daniel 5:12). In this world, some are just smarter than the other in achievements.

DILIGENCE

Image
DILIGENCE  Proverbs 12:16-28 Devotional: “The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.” (V. 24)      To be lazy at work is a crime. This is because your work is your purpose of creation. Your work or business is a service to the Lord. Your work is your contribution to your world. Your work is the value of your life. Can you imagine how much a lazy man stand to lose?

MEDITATION

Image
MEDITATION   Psalms 1:1-6 Devotional: "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.” (V. 2)     I have found out that the strength of life come through meditation. When it looks like your strength is finished, all you need is to set yourself aside to meditate on the words that can strengthen you. It is then you will be able to draw water out of the well of salvation.

TENACITY

Image
TENACITY Hebrews 6:9-12 Devotional: "And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,” (V. 11)      One thing that makes a work succeed at last is our ability to stay with the work either thin or thick. Desperate people may not be able to establish anything serious. There is nothing that will stand at last if there is no one to stay and face it squarely.

BARRIER BREAKERS

Image
BARRIER BREAKERS 2 Samuel 23: 8-18 Devotional: "So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the LORD.” (V. 16)      As we carry out our work on earth, we are bound to face barriers. These barriers are factors that will want to stand against what we are doing and discourages us from getting our desired results. That is why we must be ready to face them and wear them out. It is because of these barrier that many give up in pursuing their desired dream of life. It could be finances, bad comments or lack of encouragement. This year, those barriers will not stop you in Jesus name.

YOUR PERSONALITY

Image
YOUR PERSONALITY  Matthew 26:30-35 Devotional: "Peter answered and said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble." (V. 33)      The personality of each one is a sum total of the domineering temperament of each of their parents combined. God select our parent based on who will best supply the personality we will need in our life. This personality traits distinct us among others. God has uniquely created each of us with different personalities that we might be able to work and be a blessing in business on the earth.

YOUR EXPERIENCES

Image
YOUR EXPERIENCES   1 Sam 17:48-58 Devotional: "Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth” (v. 49)      Your experiences in life is a function of repeated exercise or unavoidable practices you find yourself. This could be in form of a training or a job that train you to specialize on a particular part of production. Experiences are therefore the strength we gathered or the skill we have built in by exercising in it over a period of time. Experiences of life, either good or bad ought to make our lives better.

PASSION

Image
PASSION  Romans 9:6-13 Devotional: "For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,” (V. 3)      God has made each man and woman with a passion. Passion is the expression of our emotions. Our emotion is part of our soul that is created to help in carrying out or drive us into action till there is a result. When God want to use anyone to achieve a work, He will reveal the work to the ‘intellect’ of the person, the intellect will move it to the ‘will power’ which takes decision and this decisions are transmitted to the emotion who will help to drive it out with intense passion till there is a result of achievements. An example you can see is in Jeremiah 1:9-12.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Image
SPECIAL ABILITIES Exodus 35:10-19 Devotional: "All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the LORD has commanded:” (V. 10)      God in His decision to make man relevant to his world often load us with all manner of abilities to carry out our work on earth. If you observe the makeup of man, you will discover that it is because we were made to work on the earth (Genesis 2:15). Each of us need to be grateful to God for this. It will now be a crime for anyone to refuse to work or be idle.

WORK AT HOME

Image
WORK AT HOME Proverbs 14:1-10 Devotional: “The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” (V. 1)      Irresponsibility has marred the stability of many family. People viewing family live from different angles. Some sees it from just friendship and relaxation angle. Some sees it from the angle of sex partner alone, others sees it from the angle of social relevance. They just want to do what everyone use to do. Some sees it from the angle of an escape route from parental unrest. All I have mentioned are okay but marriage is more than that.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

Image
SPIRITUAL GIFTS  1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Devotional: "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” (V. 7)      One of the Grace and strength God has given to every Spirit filled believers is that of Spiritual gift. These are divine abilities that enable us to perform or work above our natural abilities. When the Holy Spirit comes into anyone, He comes with His gifts          (divine abilities). This will then make it clearer to you that the Holy Spirit is given that believers may be able to serve the kingdom of God wherever we are.

DIVINE VISION

Image
DIVINE VISION   Habakkuk 2:1-4 Devotional: "Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” (V. 2)      Visions are revelations given to a man to acquaint him with the purpose of his creation. It is the creator revealing His intention for making a creature. Vision is showing a future created for a man to work on. There is no one on earth who came by mistake. It is for the kingdom of God to be established on the earth. We are all needed and employed to work on the earth. Our Creator is the one who knows the reason He made us and this is the work we are created to do.

DIVINE DREAM

Image
DIVINE DREAM  Genesis 37:1-11 Devotional: "Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." V 9      Dreamers are winners and dreamers are valued. This world belongs to men and women of great dream. Our work will be great when we work in the part of our dream. So, if anyone is asking which part do I work? It is always good to work in the part of your dream, for this is what will give you fulfillment and joy. This is because God has planted a dream in the heart of everyone to be able to carry out their work.

GOOD WORKS

Image
GOOD WORKS   Matthew 5:13-20 Devotional: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (V. 16)      It is in the plan of God that you fulfill your destiny on earth. This therefore demands that you observe your ability to achieve this. Jesus came to load us with the grace and ability to do good works in this world that God may be glorified.

RESPONSIBILITY

Image
RESPONSIBILITY 2 Chronicles 2:1-12 Devotional: "Then Solomon determined to build a temple for the name of the LORD, and a royal house for himself” (V. 1)      Responsibility is the act of rising up to the task of resolving a challenge about your progress in the office or business. Before God give us opportunity to work in an office or be involved in a business, He has already put in us all it takes to represent Him and excel or succeed in the place. He has given you the Holy Spirit and His gift for the work.

SAVED TO WORK

Image
SAVED TO WORK Ephesians 2:1-10 Devotional: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (V. 10)      The first church experienced great power of God. The Holy Spirit worked mighty things around them. But they so much enjoyed the fellowship of each other and were staying regularly together, eat together and possibly lived together. Not too long, God had to orchestrate persecution against them for the purpose of scattering them (James 1:1; Genesis 11:8). They had to work through many places and take the good news to the end of the earth through their good works.

THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Image
THE SPIRIT OF  GOD Genesis 41:25-41 Devotional: "And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?"V38      We often make mistake of thinking the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the church alone. God has given us the Holy Spirit that we might carry Him around to manifest His glory and power through us especially in our work and business places. The Holy Spirit is not given to us to sit down. That will be of no use. It is for us to work and men to marvel at the work of our hand.

THE GLORY OF GOD

Image
THE GLORY OF GOD Isaiah 40:1-5 Devotional: “The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." (V. 5)      God always want to demonstrate His glory in the life of His children. The glory of the Lord is the beauty of the Lord. If the glory of God will therefore be demonstrated in our lives, it has to be through our work. This is when we step out to carry out our businesses in obedience to the Lord.

THE BLESSING OF THE LORD

Image
THE BLESSING OF THE LORD Deuteronomy 2:1-7 Devotional: “For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing."' (V. 7)      Everyone desire to see the blessing of the Lord. But we need to be told that God also want to demonstrate His blessing through our work by faith (Hebrews 11:40). So, people should not talk about the blessing of the Lord if they don't embark on a paticular assignment by faith.

PURPOSE OF HIS PRESENCE

Image
PURPOSE OF HIS PRESENCE   Genesis 39:1-6 Devotional: "The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” (V. 2)      We so much love the presence of the Lord, but we need to understand it's purpose. Today, because we don't know the purpose of the presence of the Lord, we are not fulfilling the desires of the Lord concerning us. God is disappointed in many Christians because we have so much allow the work of the devil to be more pronounced in the world than the work of God. The reason God want to be with us is that His invisible glory might become visible through us (Psalm 19:1-3) This will happen as we work or step out with His presence with us.

WHAT IS A WORK?

Image
WHAT IS A WORK? Genesis 2:8-17 Devotional : "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Aden to tend and keep it.” (V. 15)      It is important we have good understanding of what a work is. Without work, a life will be useless and worthless. God created us to work. God’s word says, He that will not work should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). One of the evil that has plagued the world today is that, we have wrongly defined what a work is and limit it to only a means of income.

JESUS WORKS

Image
JESUS WORKS John 5:16-23 Devotional – “But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." (V:17)      Jesus who is the image of the father to man is working. He caused all kinds of positive change in the life of people around Him when He was physically on earth. He healed the sick, He raised the dead, He provided what people need. These are products of His work.

GOD WORKS

Image
GOD WORKS   Genesis 2:1-7 Devotional – “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done”. (V. 2)      God the maker of the heavens and the earth is a God that work. We need to understand that God must not stop working. If He does, most of the system and structure that makes our earth to be, will simply stop. That will create total destruction on the earth and on the inhabitants of the earth. That is why the Bible says, He does not slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4). If God, our maker is working, then it will be a sin if we don’t work (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
