THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. God is starting a brand-new thing with you. He is giving you new experiences of success and breakthrough. You need to lea...

TIMES OF TRIAL

TIMES OF TRIAL

Hebrews 12:3-11
Devotional Verse:-“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it” (Vs.11)

Every child of God must be ready for a time of test. It is one of the habits of God to allow His children to be tested once in a while (Genesis 22:1, Job 1:10-12). No one loves to be tested, but tests are the best ways to ascertain the genuineness of the heart and strength of man. A time of test is a time when God is attempting to check on our level of growth in His will.
In today’s Scripture, we see that God’s word encourages us not to resist a time of temptation but to stand firm in the will of God. Even in our test, the Bible says that we must not yield to sin (Hebrews 12:4). As God’s children, we will go through all kinds of temptations but we must be firm enough to pass every test (Hebrews 4:15). We pass these tests when we resist the devil and refuse to follow his suggestions (Matthew 4:4). It is important for you to know that the purpose of temptation is for promotion (James 1:12, Hebrews 12:11). Your test could be either on finance, relationship, church family commitments, prayer life, service to God, instruction to give etc.

However, in every test, learn to always ask for the assistance of the Holy Spirit who would not allow you to be tempted above what you can bear (1 Cor. 10:13). He will make a way for you. You may be going through a tough time now, don’t give in or give up. Hold on to God who will at the end of the day give you a victory and lifting! Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, uphold me in trying times in Jesus’ name.
