THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. God is starting a brand-new thing with you. He is giving you new experiences of success and breakthrough. You need to lea...

IT’S IN THE HEART

IT’S IN THE HEART

Matthew 5:27-30
Devotional Verse:- “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Vs. 28).

The center of all that a man does is in the heart. Jesus said that while a good man brings forth good things out of the good treasure of his heart, a bad man does the opposite (Matthew 12:35). It is important for us to know that all that is going on in our lives, that is, in our current state, are all products of the state of our hearts (Prov. 23:7). That is why everyone should work to improve the state of their hearts by studying edifying books.
Jesus said that fornication is not only in the act but in the heart. Adulterous people always first have to desire the act in their heart. What transfers these things to the hearts of people is looking and meditating which is done with the eyes and the heart. For this reason, every child of God must learn to work on both their hearts and discipline their five senses.

The key to taming your heart is to mind what you look at. It is also to mind where your five senses take you. The key word here is ‘self-discipline’. Apostle Paul said he disciplined himself so as not to be a cast away (1 Cor. 9:27). You need to ask for the grace to do these in prayers and you will be an overcomer over all the tricks of the devil. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me victory over the temptation of wrong looking.

“IF YOU CAN’T STOP THE LOOK, YOU CAN’T STOP THE ACT”.
