A SINGING HEART

A SINGING HEART Ephesians 5:10-20 Devotional:- “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,” (v.19) NKJV Singing always, to some people, is equal to madness. Some believe that if you see a man who has never had a time of sorrow, then he is not a man. According to them, life must have ups and downs. But do you know that God want to simply make your days full of joy and void of sorrow. That is why Christ came to carry our sorrows away. If He has come to carry our sorrow away, then it is wrong to expect yourself to still be living in what is no more available (Isaiah 53:4). What the bible is teaching us today is contrary to what men will teach. God’s word wants us to always sing and be joyful. That is why God’s word says; rejoice in the Lord always and not sometimes (Philippians 4:4). Listen to this, if you want to be joyful and void of sorrow for the rest of your life, you need to pray it into your life. Sing...

ANGER AND RECONCILIATION

ANGER AND RECONCILIATION

Matthew 5:20-22
Devotional Verse:-“But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother,'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says,'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire” (Vs. 22).

When a man is angry naturally, he looks for a way to carry out revenge. This is because he needs to unleash his anger on someone. Anger, when not really subdued in the heart of a man can cause death. That is why the word of God tells us that though we can be angry, we must not commit sin (Ephesians 4:26).
In our Scripture for today, Jesus told us that we should learn to live above anger. We must cultivate the habit of forgiving others instead. Remember that it was the anger which Cain didn’t take care of that made him murder his brother (Genesis 4:4-8). It was also because of anger that Joab the captain of the army of David murdered Abner in cold blood (II Samuel 3:20). Jesus said that this will lead to eternity in hell if not taken care of.

It is the lifestyle of kingdom citizens to reconcile with offenders and not allow anger to build up bitterness that leads to a bitter life (Hebrews 12:15). God commands us to bless and not to curse (Romans 12:14). Friend, there is no curse that is right. All that should come out of your mouth as a child of God even in the heat of anger should be blessing and peace. This is because what comes out of your mouth is from the state of your heart (Matthew 12:34). Let your words always bless others from a blessed heart and not curse. Remember also that your words are your seed and they shall become your future harvest (Galatians 6:7). Always sow the word of His blessing and that shall be your harvest. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to live above the spirit of anger.
