COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

FORGIVING TO BE FORGIVEN

FORGIVING TO BE FORGIVEN

Mark 11:19-26
Devotional Verse:-"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses” (Vs. 25)

It is wrong for any child of God to pray and not to receive answer. This is because God has covenanted to answer our prayers in His word. Though God is sovereign, He is a covenant keeping God (Exodus 34:6-7, Psalms 89:34). So, we must totally depend on His faithfulness.

In today’s Scripture, Jesus teaches us how to pray and receive answers to our prayers. This is a prayer of faith that does not doubt the faithfulness of God. We must learn to put our experiences aside and always believe God afresh in each time we pray.

Jesus taught us to believe that when we pray, we should believe that our answers have come (Mark 11:24). He also taught us to forgive people who offends us if we want God to forgive us (Matthew 6:15). The reason is that, sin is always a major hindrance to prayers (Isa. 59:1-2). God loves us but He cannot put up with sin. So, if anyone offends you, forgive him so that your prayers will not be hindered. That is when you can come boldly to His throne of grace, making your requests known to Him (Heb. 4:16). As you forgive, you will be forgiven. Your prayers will no longer be hindered and the answers to them will no longer linger in Jesus name.
Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me a forgiving heart.

“FORGIVENESS IS THE KEY TO BEING FORGIVEN”.
