ASK Matthew 7:7-12  Devotional:- “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (V.11) NKJV For us to be able to enjoy the love of God as believers, we must begin to ask God for our needs. It is the principle of God that you will only have what you ask (Matthew 7:7). If you don’t speak out to ask, you may not be given. This was the problem of the senior brother of the prodigal son (Luke 15:29-32). Everything is for Him, but he had never asked for any. But the younger brother knew how to ask You must also learn how to ask. This is because you will only enjoy what you asked for. We therefore need to learn how to ask. The word ‘ask’ is not the same as beg or loan. The word asks suggests confidence and courage. It means to demand for what you are due for. It means to ask for your rights and your entitlements in God (Galatians 3:13-14). The bible is a book of covenant ...

HIGHER RIGHTEOUSNESS

HIGHER RIGHTEOUSNESS

Matthew 5:17-19
Devotional Verse:-“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Vs. 19)

To morally religious-minded people, righteousness is standing right in the view of others who can give good comments about them. They like to be men pleasers. Many people like good comments and recommendations from people, even though they know that most human praise is always not totally true but always exaggerated.     Jesus said that our lifestyles as citizens of the kingdom of God should be beyond human righteousness for us to be partakers of the kingdom of heaven. He also said that He has come to fulfill the Scripture and not to please people. So, obedience to God should be our primary lifestyle as kingdom citizens (Matt. 7:21).

Every part of the Scripture is to be obeyed in the light of this because whatever is commanded in the Old Testament and established in the New Testament is binding on us. The ones we are not expected to obey are the ones in the Old Testament which are not established in the New Testament since we are no more under the law but under grace. Friend, our righteousness should be true to the heart as we do the will of God from the heart. The Holy Spirit is always present to help us. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to be obedient to all your instructions.

“HE WHO WALKS IN OBEDIENCE IS WALKING IN WISDOM”.
