FEAR NOT

FEAR NOT I Samuel 17:2-11 Devotional:- “When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid” (V. 11) NKJV      Fear is one of the things that destroys strength in a believer’s life. No wonder God says it in 365 times in His word: “Fear not”. It is often said that what man fears is what will eventually happen to him (Job 3:25). We usually become afraid when we are intimidated by situations. Tins happen when we feel we cannot win the forces against us (Numbers 13:33).

SECRET PLACE

God's Hour of Truth "It All Begins In The Secret Place Part 2 08 ...Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:5-15

Devotional: : “ But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” (V. 6)

To have effective time in the presence of the Lord, you need a secret, solitary or secluded place. These are places you can be all alone with God (Matthew 14:23). The reason this is important is that, you are not disturbed. To be able to focus on God demand that we are not distracted. Until you can focus, you cannot get to God.

The word of God therefore instructed us to stay in our room, shut the door and pray in such secret place; Jesus said that secret prayer will be answered openly. In other words, people will hear our testimony. This is the power of focusing in His presence. Jesus taught us in this scripture to know the importance of being private with God and not hypocritical or trying to do a show up. Whenever you are talking or thinking, you are transmitting through the wavelet. Others looking at you make them block your wavelet with their thought or talking against you. That is why it is better private, earlier in the day or later when others are far asleep.

Friend, you cannot enjoy the presence of God with show up mentality. This is an attempt to impress people. That way, God will no longer be involved. Since it is men we want to please. It is the main reason we must be sincere and open with God (Matthew 5:8; Psalms 24:4). Anyone who practices such hypocrisy has no reward from God (Matthew 6:16). Your privacy with God matter so much to Him. It is in doing that, that you will have the best of His presence. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me a pure and sincere heart
