One of the greatest enemies man has is himself. Until you realize this, you may still be far from the truth of victory. The scripture we read today said, “It is the things that come out of a man that defile him. The word defile can be likened to anything that makes him unworthy, not qualify or standing against him. It simply means that what often stands against man is from within him and that is what can defile or corrupt him.

There is a need for you to understand your composition. The Bible records that man is a triune being (1 Thessalonians 5:23). You are a spirit, you possess a soul and live in a body. Your soul is the link between your spirit and your body. Our soul contains our memory, the intellect, the will, and emotion. The mind of a man is the seat of his thinking.

The enemy has known that whatever comes out of our mind permit or hinder us. So he have learnt to go through the mind of a man to make him hinder himself. He uses the five sense organs, which are the eye, nose, mouth, ear and touch. He often sends in wrong information, negative information and sinful thoughts to weaken our conscience (Proverbs 28:1). He also brings sorrow, discouragement and frustration in our mind, so that our intellect will not think well about the way forward. Friend, sorrow is not a friend but an enemy. It blocks your intellect and breaks down your system (Proverbs 15:13). You only need to be wise to keep your heart from wrong information; they are pollutants (Proverbs 4:23). Choose to live a joyful life always. Learn to resist the enemy (James 4:7). And always renew your mind with God’s word, and you will be able to keep the enemy out of your life. You are winning!

Prayer: Lord, help me to renew my mind daily through your word.

“KEEPING YOUR MIND IS KEEPING YOUR LIFE”
