He is always making us to think we don’t have what we need to succeed. That is why most people often think if they have so, so and so then they would have been able to make it. But if we want to face the reality of life, right in our hands and heart lies what can make us succeed. It is true that we need the help and favour of God. But they will only catch up with us when we are us...

I Samuel 15:13-23

Most of what brings man into the trap of the enemies is a product of disobedience. When a man works in disobedience, God will definitely back out of his life, and that gives room to the enemy. Most people believe in disobeying God and come begging with sacrifices later. But wisdom tells us that obedience is better.

Obedience is walking according to the instructions of God. Any time God guides us, He is simply making us to walk in His plan for our lives. And this plan He has for us is a portion of His big plan for the whole world. So when we disobey God, we are simply obstructing His plan. We are joining the enemy of God, the devil, to disrupt the plan of God. That is why the Bible says, disobedience is likened to rebellion and witchcraft and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry (1 Samuel 15:23).

God’s word says, if we are willing and obedient, we shall have the best of the land (Isaiah 1:19). When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden, they were sent out of their palace into suffering. And this is the trouble disobedience brought into the life of men. When a man disobeys God, he has been maneuvered to the side of the enemy to be against God. So God has to let him be where he has chosen.

Friend, always choose to obey God. Now begin to do what He has been asking you to do. Then you’ve chosen to be on the side of God. Disobedience will always lead to struggling and frustration. This is exactly what happened to the life of Saul. Choose obedience, and you will keep growing even in the face of your enemy.

Prayer: Lord, grant me grace to always obey you.
