Sometimes we look at God’s law as though they are there for us to satisfy God. But if any man has wisdom, he will discover that all the laws of God are for our good. When we realise this, it helps us to find wisdom in obeying God and be willing to do His will. One of the things we learn from God is not to be boastful. Humility is the practice of the mature. Many today have entered into many traps in life because they are boastful. They want to always tell people in a proud way so that they will know their achievement. This opens up to the enemy.
We could ask a question in our mind: Can God not protect us from the enemy? The answer is “Yes”. God can protect us. But when God observes that you are not willing to either grow and be mature or work in wisdom, then He allows the enemy to teach you a lesson. So, men are led into temptation for their training because God sometimes train His own children with challenges (Hebrews 12:5-6).
Friend, you know how low you were before God began to lift you. Stop boasting if you don’t want to be trapped. What do you have that God has not given to you? (James 1:7). Some will boast about a baby yet to be born, a house yet to be completed, a car yet to be bought; all of these are not wisdom. Stop putting yourself into the hands of the enemy. If you can think wisely, then leave no room for boasting. God is taking you farther, don’t block your way with boasting. Let Him perfect what He has started in your life. Watch out! Be sober, be vigilant, and you will get there.
