HOPE

HOPE Psalm 42:1-11 Devotional:- “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God” (v.11) NKJV If any man will experience sustaining joy, he must first be hopeful. Hope is the strength of joy. Hope is the reason for the coming joy. It is an expectation according to the will of God. It is an assurance of a coming joy (Hebrews 12:2). It is also the strength of faith (Hebrews 11:1). If there is no hope, there may also not be joy, but a man of hope will continue in joy. Oftentimes, we observe the current happenings around us, and it looks like there is no hope. The truth is that current events are not the determining factor for our tomorrow. God’s word says we cannot compare the suffering of now to the glory that is coming (Romans 8:18). The truth is that no hope can be genuine till it has a sure and certain promise. This is a promise that cannot fail, and that is why our hope should be in...

MEMBER OF HIS BODY

MEMBER OF HIS BODY

I Corinthians 12:24-28
Devotional:- “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually” (V. 27) NKJV

The Bible refers to us as members of the body of Christ or as part of the body of Christ. This truth brings us to the light of understanding of your importance, as a part of the Church. But more than that is the understanding by the same scripture that you as an individual are a member of Christ's body. The ‘body’ here can therefore be seen in two dimensions. It interprets the church as a single group and a team. It also interprets that each member as being part of the body of Jesus Christ. He is the head and we are the body. We have become members of His body by His Spirit that dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16).

All of us know that wherever a man is all the members of his body are. It is impossible to separate a man from his body even though he is a spirit. The moment the spirit is separated the man is dead. And since Jesus is alive forevermore, whatever He is you are.

If He cannot be a victim of sickness, you cannot be. If He cannot die in an accident, you cannot. If His home cannot break yours cannot. This is because the same blood flows through you and Him. That is why the bible says; we are sited with Him far above all authority and dominion (Ephesians 2:6). Whatever Jesus is, He is for the church of which you are a part (Ephesians 1:20-23). Because He is sited in glory, our life must then reflect His glory (Ephesians 3:21). Because He is the judge of the heaven and earth, we are also (1Corinthans 6:2). That is why you must not joke with your regular membership of the church of Jesus Christ. Let no sin or association distract you. It is your day!

PRAYER: LORD, LET YOUR GLORY FLOW THROUGH MY LIFE.
