HOW SERVANTS THINK

HOW SERVANTS THINK Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional:- “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” (V. 24).   To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. They keep in mind that God owns it all.  To become a real servant you’ve got to settle the issue of money in your life (Luke 16:13). Please understand that money has a great potential to replace God in our heart. When Jesus is your master...

HE BLESSES

HE BLESSES

2 Samuel 6:5-12
Devotional:- “The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household” (V. 11) NKJV

One of the great virtues highly needed in many families in Africa is God's blessing. Everyone knows that there is something called God’s blessings. This is not just I buy and sell and make money. This is grace for multiplication and increase. This is not just because of human ability but the grace of His covenant (Genesis 26:12: 30:27). This is the blessing of God for the righteous (Psalm 5:12). This is a blessing without trouble, it is peaceful and fulfilling (Proverbs 10:22).

In the scriptures we read today is the adventure of a man into the blessing of God. King David decided to bring the ark of the Lord to the place prepared for it. As they were coming, someone wanting to help it from falling and was killed by God (2 Samuel 6:6). This was because they were carrying it contrary to God’s instruction. David then felt the ark should not come to his house so as not to kill him. It was then dropped in the house of Obed-Edom. While the ark was in the house of Obed Edom, the man knew how to treat it. God then began to bless him and his household.

Friend, you can also enter into God's blessing when you understand the way to entreat God's presence. The ark symbolizes His presence. The blessing of His presence will give you instructions in your time of worship and prayers. This is His wisdom to connect you to your blessing each day of your life (Isaiah 48:17; Jeremiah 33:3). That is why you should be humble to receive His instructions (Psalm 25:9). Depend upon His mercy and not just on your labor (Psalms 127:1). And always appreciate Him for each increase in your labor and labor only as He instructs. You will begin to experience His true trouble-free blessing.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to humble myself and be grateful.
