COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

FAVOUR OF GOD

FAVOUR OF GOD

1 Samuel 2:12-26
Devotional:- “And the child Samuel grew on and in favor both with the Lord, and men (V. 26) NKJV

You need to know that your God is a God of favor. That is, it is in His habit to always favor His people. When a man is walking in the will of God, he will sooner or later start to enjoy God's favor. And when a man enters God's favor all things around him will gain a new turn.

The family of Eli was the family chosen by the Lord to forever be the priesthood family in God's house. But started changing it when it came to Eli. This was because he did not quickly correct his children in the evil they were committing in the house of the Lord. God was not happy with Eli and his children. But as this family was facing the anger of God, Samuel was been favored by the Lord. Though he was supposed to be an errant boy to Eli and his family, but God's favor lifted him.

Friend, you are the next in line to be favored by the Lord (Psalm 102:13). All you need to do is to humble yourself to listen and obey God's instruction. Make yourself available to serve in His house like Samuel did. And you will start to enjoy His favor (Psalms 5:12). When God's favor comes you will begin to enjoy the blessings you do not deserve. And you will be blessed.

Prayer: Lord, bring me by grace into your favor.

“FAVOUR BRINGS A MAN INTO WHAT HE DOES NOT DESERVE”
