GREATEST FATHER

GREATEST FATHER John 20:11-18 “Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” (V.17) NKJV   Though there is a great number of males in the world today, there are few true fathers. Men who can be referred to as good fathers are rare. This is the reason for the breeding of terrible children in today's homes. Many children don’t even know what it is to have a father. That is why when God is referred to as our father, it does not interest some of us in any form. We only look at Him as one of those absentee fathers in the world. In the scripture we read today, Jesus died and resurrected again and purchased us back to God by His blood. The first person He met after His resurrection was Mary Magdalene. He was glad to share with Mary the good news of God becoming our Father through His death. He probably would have expecte...

OVERCOMING SIN

OVERCOMING SIN

Romans 6:5-18
Devotional:- “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace” (v. 14) NKJV

Many people today are facing the challenges of how to overcome sin in their lives. We have also many others who willingly submit to the rule of sin regularly. But the truth is that many know the evil and wicked consequences of sin. For example we all know that sexual sin endangers our health and lives. Also, every bad habit is intending to make us a failure. Yet many will not stop committing them and so many lives and destinies have been destroyed.

If a man will ever overcome the power of sin, he needs to first realize the love God has for him. There is need for us to know that God loves us and only hates our sins. If we repent of our sins He will forgive us (1 John 1:7-9). He is not interested in the death of a sinner but that he repents and be saved (Ezekiel 18:23). Sin brings us under condemnation and fear but the love of God sets us free from the bondages of sin.

We also need to know that Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin and death (1 John 3:8; Romans 8:2). He destroyed the power of sin on the cross of Calvary. So sin has no power to force us to obey it anymore. The throne of sin is destroyed and the grace of righteousness of God reign over our lives. So the power to say NO is given to us.

You will realize that when you sin as a believer, you willingly do it, not as if you can't control yourself. So is every genuinely saved believer. Don’t let that sin destroy your health and success. Refuse it, glorious destiny awaits you. Don't exchange it with sin. You have authority over sin, it will not see your end but you will see its end in Jesus name.

Prayer: Lord, thank you because you've made me strong enough to overcome sin.
