And so, it does not really have any meaningful impact on our lives. This is because it is only knowledge that brings about outstandingness and makes a man stand over his enemy. Many Christians are building muscles instead of knowledge of our God to build our spirit and soul for victory (Daniel 11:32). PRAYER AND FASTING

PRAYER AND FASTING

Scripture Reading: Matthew 17:14-21
Devotional:- “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting" (v. 21) NKJV

To gain spiritual strength, a man must create avenue to overcome the flesh. That is what makes praying and fasting very important. The flesh don’t ever want any inconveniences. The flesh wants pleasure and the enjoyment of this world. The Bible says “if we continue to live by the flesh, we will terminate our connection with God (Romans 8:5-8). The flesh always wants to drive to carnality and that is why whoever that wants to be strong in the spirit must deny it in prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting is for you to gain spiritual muscles.

A man brought his son to the disciples of Jesus for healing but they could not. Friend, you may say “but I am not a pastor”, must I fast to heal people? But there will come an occasion when you or your family will need healing and you may not be able to help them, if you are weak. Don’t wait to be under emergency to be strong to conquer. Prevention is better than cure. Jesus said the forces of wickedness cannot be commanded out by a weak man (Matthew 17:21, Proverbs 24:10)

I will like to encourage you to regularly create time to separate yourself unto God in prayer and fasting. It does not in any way going to disturb your work or business. That way, you will enjoy deep revelation about the word of God for your strength (Isaiah 58:6-8). Then your strength will increase for your victory. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me grace to always deny myself in time of praying and fasting.
