COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

HOLY SPIRIT

HOLY SPIRIT

Scripture Reading: John 14:25-31
Devotional:- “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (v. 26) NKJV

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of strength. The Holy Spirit is the link between man and God. It is like the SIM card in your phone. It is the SIM card that connects you to the telecom service provider. It is the SIM card that can empower your phone to function no matter how expensive. No matter who you are, if you lack the Holy Spirit, you will be a mere specimen in the hand of the devil. This is because his own SIM card will be in you (1 John 3:9-10). His own agenda is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). That is why if you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you are not a child of God (Romans 8:9-14)

When the Holy Spirit is in you, He will be your helper in all situations. He will teach you all things. He will caution you of wrong steps and also of wrong relationship. He will guide your heart to right things for your life (Psalms 23:1-3). He will remind you of what to do and what not. He will remind you of what you need to say and where you need to say it for right result. He will give you abundant joy that will swallow the sorrow of the world.

To receive the Holy Spirit is one of the simplest things in the world. Just be thirsty and ask for Him in faith (John 7:37-39). Separate a time to ask for His baptism. You have to believe and see Him in you. And you will start to speak in another tongue. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit afresh.
