FATHER OF LIGHT 1 John 1:1-10 Devotional:- “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” (V. 5) NKJV      Our God is referred to as the God of light. He dwells in great light (1 Timothy 6:16). He is referred to as the father of light (James 1:17). He is the creator of light. In this light is the strength and the life of men (John 1:4).

A SPIRIT John 4:19-26 Devotional:- “God is a spirit those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth” (V. 24) KJV      God is a spirit. It is so important that you realize this truth. This will help you to understand and relate with Him better for your progress. All other gods are physical but our God is a Spirit. This means He is a Spirit being. He is not physical. We are His image and likeness. In other words, we carry His features and attributes, yet He is not physical.

EVERLASTING STRENGTH Isaiah 26:1-7 Devotional:- Trust ye in the Lord, forever, for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” (V. 4) KJV        A man may be strong today and may not be tomorrow. We have seen a one-time world champion be defeated like a weakling. This is because human strength has limitations. When a man grows in strength, it will get to a level; he will begin to decline. That is why we have seen great organizations suddenly collapsing. They have simply come to the climax of their strength.

A WARRIOR Exodus 15:1-10 Devotional:- “The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name”. (V. 3)      Looking at the reality of the affairs of life makes us understand that we are here for battle (Ephesians 6:12). We are often faced with spiritual battles and psychological battles. The word of God has not put us in the dark that our lives shall be full of challenges (John 16:33). We have to face challenges in life because they built us strong to conquer. A student who is reading to succeed academically is acting. So also, is a man who is pursuing a business breakthrough. They will both need to contend with some forces to make it.

OUR REFUGE Psalm46:1-6 Devotional:- “God is our refuge and strength [mighty, and Impenetrable to temptation] a very present and well-proved help in trouble”. ( V. 1 ) AMPL      God’s word refers to God as our refuge and strength. The experience in the world today is that no place is safe. The aircraft has been proven to be one of the safest means of transportation for years. But now experiences have proved that no particular means of transportation is safe. But for God’s children, God is our refuge.

THE ROCK Deuteronomy32:1-13 Devotional:- “He is the rock, His work is perfect for all His way is justice a God of truth and without injustices; righteous and upright is He” ( V. 4 )      You need to know that the word of God calls our God the rock. Any time I have the privilege to be on a rock it is always a wonderful thing to behold. A rock is always great and strong. You can’t kick it or hit it. You will be doing yourself a great harm. It is always strong and mighty. It doesn’t shake nor move. It is very stable and balanced. I always desire to be on the rock.

OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS Jeremiah23:5-8 Devotional:- “In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” ( V. 6 )      This generation has enjoyed the best of God so far. But God still has so much of his mercy to bestow on us. This made Him become our righteousness. The righteous is the one who can enjoy the best from God. The righteous is the one who has a right standing with God. They are the ones who in God’s presence are qualified. The truth is that you can hardly find a man who will be qualified by all standards before the Lord. That is why God Himself has become our righteousness. You only cannot continue in sin and still have the righteousness of God ( Romans 6:1 ).

ABSOLUTE TRUTH John17:13-19 Devotional:- “Sanctify them (purify, consecrate, separate them for yourself, make them holy) by the truth: your word is truth”. ( V. 17 ) AMPL      Men sometimes face challenges and carelessly doubt the truthfulness of God. We sometimes find it easier to believe what is physical than the unseen God. That is why some so-called Christians still look for other means of security not knowing the implication of putting light and darkness together. Human doubt today is a result of the fact that we are not sure about the truthfulness of God.

THE SUPREME Isaiah44:6-11 Devotional:- “Fear ye not, neither be afraid… Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any” ( V. 8 ) KJV      It is important that you have this understanding once and for all, that there is no other God besides the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who is the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. There can be many gods but there is only one God. Our God is the supreme God. He Is the only God. That is why Jesus is referred to as the Head of all other gods ( Ephesians 1:19-23 ). That is why you don’t let any god terrify you. Greater is He that is in you ( 1 John 4:4 ).

THE FATHER John 20:11-18 Devotional:- “..but go to my brethren and tell them, I am ascending to my father and your father and my God and your God” (V. 17) AMPL      It is a normal thing that every male loves to ascend to the status of a father, but many are not qualified for it. People often love to have an office but not the responsibility of the office. So, today we have a lot of fathers who don’t see their children for more than three hours a week. Some don’t even know the school their children attend nor recognize the state of their life. That is why most terrible children in society today come from big homes. It is because many lack a real father figure in their lives.

CONSUMING FIRE Hebrew12:15-29 Devotional:- “For our God is a consuming fire” ( V. 29 )      One of the attributes of God is that He is a consuming fire. There are different categories of fires. Some fires cannot burn. Some fires can burn and turn the particles into ashes. But there is a fire that consumes and allows nothing to remain. It normally swallows and is removed from existence. God is that fire.

OMNISCIENT Matthew 10:26-31 Devotional:- “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (V. 30) AMPL      Since knowledge produces power, and God is the all-powerful, you should know that He must have been all-knowing to be all-powerful.

OMNIPRESENCE Psalm 139:1-12 Devotional:- “If l ascend into heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in shoel (the place of the dead), behold, you are there” (V. 8) AMPL      God the creator of the ends of the earth fills everywhere. He is everywhere and there is nothing hidden from Him. He can see all things. His sight is stronger than all microscopic equipment and this is because He is everywhere.

OMNIPOTENT Luke 1:28-38 Devotional:- “For with Him nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment”. (V. 37) AMPL      One of the great names of God is that He is the Almighty, the omnipotent God. Every man you ever meet on earth is limited. Limited in the sense that they cannot do all things. There is a difference between not wanting to do something now and not capable of doing it. Men may even make a promise and not be able to fulfill them.

THE FAITHFUL 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28 Devotional:- “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (V.24) KJV          Another characteristic of God that you need to know today for your faith is God’s faithfulness. For one reason or the other man may not be faithful, but God forever remains faithful. When men make promises they may not have the ability to fulfill them. People always love to express their desire but are often limited in strength to carry it out. So, you cannot sometimes blame them. Some may even promise and forget but it is not so with God.

THE GRACIOUS Exodus 34:1-8 Devotional:- “…The Lord, the Lord a God merciful and gracious, long-suffering and abundance in goodness and truth” (V.6) AMPL      For believers of this Generation to have the fullness of heaven as the word of God promised, they will need to have the right understanding of who our God is. It is the wrong concept of God that has limited the exploitation of Christians and made many lives wrongly. God’s word says those who know their God shall be strong (Daniel 11:32). If you will be stronger than your challenges you must know your God.

MERCIFUL Lamentation 3:21-33 Devotional:- “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.” (V. 22)      Very many people in the world have been made to view God as wicked through the partial information they are fed. God is a just God who does not overlook sin. That is why He gave His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. So that through the death of Jesus Christ, we can find mercy before Him.

HE IS LOVE 1John 4:7-21 Devotional:- “He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love” ( v.8 ) AMPL      So many parts of the world have so much confusion about the word love. This is because some people don’t even know what love is. What a greater percentage of the world often experiences is fake love. Knowledge is supposed to promote love, but it is a pity, that it has reduced love in this generation. The increase in knowledge has become an excuse for many to stay out of love.

JEHOVAH-JIREH Genesis22:1-19 Devotional:- “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah – Jireh: as it said to this day, in the mount of the Lord it shall be seen”. ( V. 14 ) KJV      God is a great provider. A provision at a time of need is like water at a time of thirst. All of us are often faced with one need or the other. Some don’t always have their needs met and so they join the poor and become a failure in life. Some others force their need to be met through away and become one of the wicked. And by so doing create sorrow of tomorrow for themselves ( Proverbs10:22 ). But not very many people have known God as a great provider.

JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH Ezekiel 48:30-35 Devotional:- “All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits, and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE” (v.35) NKJV      The total consummation of the plan of God is for Him to dwell amid men. The experience Adam and Eve had in the garden has remained our desire all day long. And not only our desire, it Is also the greatest desire of God. Just like He often visits Adam and Eve He has always desired to live amid Men  

JEHOVAH SHALOM Judges 6:12-24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called It Jehovah-shalom…” (V.24) KJV      Another scarce commodity in the affairs of many today is peace. Everyone loves peace but as much as people desire peace as much as it is not available to them. Until men locate the source of peace, they may never experience it the way it is supposed to be. God is the source of true peace and that is why Jesus is called the prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6).

JEHOVAH-NISSI Exodus 17:8-16 Devotional:- “And Moses Built An Altar, And Called The Name Of It Jehovah-Nissi” (V. 15) KJV      It has always been there from time immemorial that some people don’t just want others to prosper. They are ready to be a hindrance rather than a support of success. They always get annoyed when others make progress. They easily become embittered and think of going to war against others. Such are the Amalekites.

THE LIVING GOD   John6:53-59 Devotional:- “As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father so he who feeds on me will live because of me” ( v.57 )      God is the author of life, so, He is the living God. He is the one that gave the breath of life to the first man and life came into him ( Genesis 2:7 ), All other gods may be lifeless but God is the living God. Very many heroes and prophets that men worship started living at a time and now have died and are no longer alive. But God is the eternal life. Even though Jesus had to die for our sins, the grave cannot retain Him for in Him is life and that is why He could resurrect.

LORD OF LORDS Deuteronomy10:12-22 “For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe ( V. 17 )      In this world, there are territories and kingdoms. You cannot find any place on the earth where there is no ruler of some kind. Everywhere belongs to someone already. Just as it is physically, so is it

ALL FLESH Jeremiah 32:17-27 Devotional:- “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is anything too hard for me?” (v.27) KJV      It is of great import that you recognize that the Lord your God is the Lord of all flesh and there is nothing difficult for Him. Medically, some things might look difficult; scientifically, some things might be impossible but with God nothing is impossible.

ANCIENT OF DAYS Daniel 7:7-14 Devotional:- "I Beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit.” (V. 9) KJV      It is high time that Christians need to know who their God is. And one of His titles is the Ancient of Days. Many challenges brought about by different forces of the enemy often trouble people. And they could be so troubled that they in the end could run to the enemy for salvation. This is because they have come to be wrongly programmed in their mind that their enemy is greater than their God.

THE CREATOR Revelation4:1-11 Devotional:- “..for you created all things, and by you, they exist and were created” ( V. 11 )      According to the scripture; it is as a man knows God that he gains strength in Him ( Daniel 11:32 ). This is the reason why people say knowledge is power. Strength in life is measured to each one by what he knows ( Proverbs 24:5 ). Defeat today in the life of Christians is traceable to their ignorance of God ( Hosea 4:6 ). One of the truths you need to know of God for your victory is that He is the creator of all.

KNOWLEDGE OF GOD  Daniel11:29-35 Devotional:- “And such as do wickedly power, the knowledge against the covenant shall He corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits” ( V.32 ) KJV      Since knowledge is power, the knowledge of God is therefore the source of strength and power, for everyone in God ( Proverbs 24:5 ). So, to know Him is to be strong in Him. It is amazing today to see how people in their multitudes are following God without knowing Him. This has birthed much failure and frustration.

WEAPON OF LIBERTY   John 8:31-36 Devotional:- "And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (V. 32) AMPL      Knowledge is not just knowing but having a light (Psalms 119:130). So, knowledge is light. And when light comes darkness must depart. Many people today are in the bondage of darkness but the cure is light. This light is the light of the word of God (John 1:9). This is because the word of God is the truth (John 17:17). Other books are books of human discoveries, but the Bible is the word of God. So, it is the knowledge of the truth that sets us free from the darkness of life.

POWER OF KNOWLEDGE Proverbs 24:1-6 Devotional:- A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength (V.5) KJV      Most people do not know that they are not victims of the devil, any wicked forces, curses or God. But that they are victims of their ignorance. All of the forces against man simply play on his ignorance (Hosea 4:6). Every man is limited to his level of knowledge. Do you know that when you discover the devices of the enemy against your life your victory will commence? All men are richly created but levels of exploits make the difference (Daniel 11:32).
