HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE

DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
Devotional:- “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven” (V. 1)

All of us on the earth are made by God for a purpose, your vision talked about your assignment but your purpose talked about the reason for your vision. It talks about the motive behind your vision. It talks about the motivation for your running and pursuit on earth. Since it is motive that motivates, then motive must be clear to please the Lord.

The word of God says there is a purpose for all things in the world. It is walking in the purpose that makes life meaningful. It is the purpose of your creation that gives your life a righteous focus for effectiveness. It is your life purpose that makes you please the Lord and enjoy the blessings of righteousness (Psalm 5:12). It is the motive of your purpose that makes your life prepared for eternal reward.

Though our vision i.e. our assignments, business or career differs yet our purpose is the same. It is to become our motive for pursuit. They can be summarized into five statements. We are to do all things to bring Glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31). We are to support the family of God with all we do (Galatians 6:9-10). We are to Grow the attitude of Christ and behave like him in all we do (1 Corinthians 11:1; Matthew 10:25). We are to do all things to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2-3). We are to do all things to draw others to God (Matthew 28:19). When these become your purpose, your endeavour cannot fail. Every venture will be faced with one challenge or the other. But when your purpose is your focus and your motivation, the Lord will stand by you to give you victory (Romans 8:31). Stop making only material gain to be your purpose, then you will start to fulfil your purpose. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to make my purpose my motive

“YOUR MOTIVE WILL DETERMINE WHETHER GOD WILL BE BEHIND YOU OR NOT”
