COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE HOLY SPIRIT

1 John 5:6-13
Devotional:- “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one” (V. 7)

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God released into man by the Father through the Son to make God’s life out of man (John 14:16). He is not just one of the spirits around but the third person of the God head. God is triune in nature and He made man to be triune in nature too. At different dispensation God has made Himself known to man in three different dimensions, yet, the three always work together.

In the Old Testament, it was God the Father Himself that was manifested to Moses. Sometimes through the ministry of angel (Exodus 3:4-6). In the New Testament books of the gospel, God manifested Himself as the Son (Hebrews 1:1-2). But from the Acts of the Apostles, He manifested Himself as the Holy Spirit.

You therefore need to know that you cannot claim to know God when the Spirit of God is not at work in you (Romans 8:9-14). Many are deceived by the devil, thinking that they are Christians because they go to church (Matthew 7:21-23). You need to seek to have quality relationship with the Holy Spirit, so that you will not miss God eternally. Peace

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, help me to know you afresh.
