HOW SERVANTS THINK

HOW SERVANTS THINK Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional:- “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” (V. 24).   To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. They keep in mind that God owns it all.  To become a real servant you’ve got to settle the issue of money in your life (Luke 16:13). Please understand that money has a great potential to replace God in our heart. When Jesus is your master...

THE HEART OF WORSHIP

THE HEART OF WORSHIP

Romans 6:1-14
Devotional: “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (V. 13)

Since worship is our first purpose on earth we need to know that worship will not be worship if we don’t surrender to God. So, surrendering is the heart of worship. In our world today, surrender sound negative. It could mean to give up or losing or admit your defeat. But it is giving ourselves to God not out of fear or necessity but in love [1 John 4:9-19]. Three things often attempt to block our mind from total surrendering to God, fear, pride and confusion.

As kingdom citizen, please know it that you must learn to trust God. A woman will not be able to surrender to her husband if she does not trust him and so also you to God. To truly surrender to God, you must admit your weaknesses and limitations. That is when you truly want to ask Him to help you. Someone said, the reason many are still struggling with life is because they have not come to the end of themselves. To surrender to God does not mean to be passive or an excuse for laziness but it is sacrificing your life or been ready to suffer through the process to bring a change to your life.

Friend, surrendering is best demonstrated in an obedience and trust. A child of God who has surrendered to God, such will not be reacting to criticism or rush to defend himself [Mark 14:36]. When people truly surrender to God, they experience peace and freedom [Luke 1:38]. If you don’t surrender to God, you still surrender to either people’s opinion, fear, money, pride or resentment. Sometimes, it could take years for you to discover that you are victim of your own pride. Note that your decision to surrender to God will always be tested. So, make up your mind to totally surrender to God. Then you will really start to live. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, I need your grace to totally surrender to you
