DARLING OF GOD

DARLING OF GOD I John 4:11-21 Devotional:- “If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” (V. 20) NKJV God has some darlings He loves in the world, and they also love Him. They seek Him, and He seeks them. They long for Him, and He longs for them. You will know such people by the way they relate to others. Today, most people think the measure for their love for God is by the number of chapters of the Bible they read daily, the number of hours and times they pray daily, the numerous assignments they do in the church or the number of posts they occupy in the church. All of these are good things to do for the Lord, but it is not a true measurement of our love for God. Most of these are what make us grow in Christ, but the fundamental measurement of our love for God is how much we love others (1 Corinthians 13:1-2). All other spiritual activities must be bo...

FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

Romans 5:1-11
DEVOTIONAL – “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Vs. 10)

As a kingdom citizen please known that God wants to be your best friend. This is because intimacy is part of your act of worship. It is true that God is our maker and redeemer yet he wants to be our friend. Remember we were made to live continually in God’s presence but it is sin that makes us loose that [Gen 3, Roman 3:23]

In our scripture for today we saw that it was grace through the sacrifice of the cross that gives us access to friendship with God [2 Corinthians 5:18]. Our friendship with God does not mean casual acquaintance but close and trusted relationships just like the best man in a wedding. In the palace the servant must keep their distance from the king but there are some people in circle of intimate and trusted friends with the king. They enjoy free and direct access to the king [John 15:15]. To become the best friend of God you must have constant time of conversation with God. To pray without season means conversing with God every time and everywhere. Words like I’m depending on you, I belong to you, help me Lord, gives you continual conversation with God also meditations on His words consistently.

To grow your friendship with God, you must choose to be honest with God, tell him when you are happy or not [Job 42:7]. Genuine friendship is built on disclosure [Ps 142:2-3]. To grow your friendship with God you must choose to obey God in faith [John 15:14], you must choose to value what God value and you must desire friendship with God more than anything else [Ps 27:4, Ps 63:3, Phi. 3:10]. Keep your choice of friendship with God even in pain. Remember pain is the fuel of passion. Take your pain as a wakeup call to love God and not as punishment. Peace!

PRAYER – Lord, help me to always be close to you.

‘’YOU ARE CLOSE TO GOD AS MUCH AS YOU CHOOSE TO ‘’
