PEACE

PEACE Proverbs 12:15-25 Devotional:- “Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy” (v.20) NKJV Two virtues often work together, and they are hardly separable; they are peace and joy. You cannot have one without the other. The moment one of them is with you, it will draw the second. This is because they are both products of God’s presence. Wherever the kingdom of God is established either in the house or office, surely peace and joy of the Lord will be present there (Galatians 5:22, Romans 14:17). The scripture we read today said there shall be joy for those who promote peace. Jesus says Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God (Matthew 5:9). And you know that God dwell in the heart of His children (I Corinthians 3:16). You also know that God’s presence commands joy (Psalms 16:11). When you receive God’s grace for joy, peace also follows you. A sorrowful man is a dangerous man. Sorrow promotes violence in the h...

FACTORS OF GROWTH

FACTORS OF GROWTH

Deuteronomy 8:1-10
Dev. “So He humble you, allow you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your father’s know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord” (VS. 3)

Spiritual growth is the process of replacing lives with the truth (John 17:17). To become like Jesus we must fill our lives with his word. (2 Timothy 3:17). The word of God is powerful, so when God speak things change. To be a healthy disciple of Jesus you must feed on the word of God. This is what it mean to abide in Christ and Christ in you. This is by remaining in the word of God and obeying the word.

To abide in God’s word you must accept the authority of the word of God (John 8:31). In other words the Bible must become the standard of your life. You must make the word of God the compass for your life. The word must become the counsel you listen to for wise decision and what you use in evaluating all you do. Many of our troubles occur because we base our choices on unreliable authorities, culture (everyone is doing it), traditions (we have always been doing it), reasoning (it seems legal or reasonable) or emotion (It just feels good) (Proverbs 30:5).

To abide in the word, we must assimilate the truth. This is by accepting the word personally, read the bible, research and study the Bible. Remembering the word to always apply it in all situations and meditate or reflect on it. To be the doer of the word is to be acting out the word you meditated on. Been part of a small Bible study group may be your best opportunity to grow. Always obey God’s word. Peace!

PRAYER; Lord, plant the love to abide in your word into my hearth.
