OUR HUSBAND

OUR HUSBAND Ephesians 5:25-32 Devotional:- “Husbands love your wives Just as Christ also loved the church… “ (V.25) I believe it is a great privilege for a woman to have a husband. This is someone who is referred to as the head of her. Someone who takes responsibility for taking care of her and the entire house, someone who oversees everyone in the home. Women, in most cases, often make their husbands a confidant. This allows them to shift some of their responsibilities to the man of the house. They, on their side, feel relaxed under the umbrella of “at least I am not the husband. In time past, I used to feel cheated as a man when women enjoyed their liberty in the house, and the man carried the burden, until I discovered this truth in the scripture that Jesus is the husband of all Christians, both men and women. Then I don’t have to be the one to carry the entire problem. I put it over to the husband and the head of all of us. He loves all of us together. He is up to the task. H...

FACTORS OF GROWTH

FACTORS OF GROWTH

Deuteronomy 8:1-10
Dev. “So He humble you, allow you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your father’s know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord” (VS. 3)

Spiritual growth is the process of replacing lives with the truth (John 17:17). To become like Jesus we must fill our lives with his word. (2 Timothy 3:17). The word of God is powerful, so when God speak things change. To be a healthy disciple of Jesus you must feed on the word of God. This is what it mean to abide in Christ and Christ in you. This is by remaining in the word of God and obeying the word.

To abide in God’s word you must accept the authority of the word of God (John 8:31). In other words the Bible must become the standard of your life. You must make the word of God the compass for your life. The word must become the counsel you listen to for wise decision and what you use in evaluating all you do. Many of our troubles occur because we base our choices on unreliable authorities, culture (everyone is doing it), traditions (we have always been doing it), reasoning (it seems legal or reasonable) or emotion (It just feels good) (Proverbs 30:5).

To abide in the word, we must assimilate the truth. This is by accepting the word personally, read the bible, research and study the Bible. Remembering the word to always apply it in all situations and meditate or reflect on it. To be the doer of the word is to be acting out the word you meditated on. Been part of a small Bible study group may be your best opportunity to grow. Always obey God’s word. Peace!

PRAYER; Lord, plant the love to abide in your word into my hearth.
