RELEASING OTHERS

RELEASING OTHERS Matthew 18:21-35   Devotional:- "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses” (V. 35) NKJV Men can easily shout, “Away with him, kill him,” to others because they are not the offender. Very many parents will bitterly discipline their children for an offence they too have committed in the past, for which they were not killed. It is always easy to be a judge, though most judges cannot stand the face of trial. That is why the word of God instructs us not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-6). The scripture we read today reveals the wickedness of men. A man who owed his master so much, just like we all owe God so much. He was forgiven by his master, but cannot forgive his fellow servant. He rather locked him up in police custody for torment. His master heard and also reversed his decision on him for judgement.  Friend, who are the people you have refused to forgive? No matter what they...

FACTORS OF GROWTH

FACTORS OF GROWTH

Deuteronomy 8:1-10
Dev. “So He humble you, allow you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your father’s know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord” (VS. 3)

Spiritual growth is the process of replacing lives with the truth (John 17:17). To become like Jesus we must fill our lives with his word. (2 Timothy 3:17). The word of God is powerful, so when God speak things change. To be a healthy disciple of Jesus you must feed on the word of God. This is what it mean to abide in Christ and Christ in you. This is by remaining in the word of God and obeying the word.

To abide in God’s word you must accept the authority of the word of God (John 8:31). In other words the Bible must become the standard of your life. You must make the word of God the compass for your life. The word must become the counsel you listen to for wise decision and what you use in evaluating all you do. Many of our troubles occur because we base our choices on unreliable authorities, culture (everyone is doing it), traditions (we have always been doing it), reasoning (it seems legal or reasonable) or emotion (It just feels good) (Proverbs 30:5).

To abide in the word, we must assimilate the truth. This is by accepting the word personally, read the bible, research and study the Bible. Remembering the word to always apply it in all situations and meditate or reflect on it. To be the doer of the word is to be acting out the word you meditated on. Been part of a small Bible study group may be your best opportunity to grow. Always obey God’s word. Peace!

PRAYER; Lord, plant the love to abide in your word into my hearth.
