THE MOST IMPORTANT THING 

1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Dev “Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love”. (v.13)


    In belonging to God and his family the most important thing is love. Because God is love and the most important lesson He wants us to learn is how to love. It is in loving that we look like Him. Loving makes you obey all the laws of God [Gal. 5:14]. God wants us to love everyone but particularly members of His family [1 Pet 2:17]. A major reason God wants us to specially love members of His family is because He wants His family to be known for love more than any other thing [John 13:35]. God want us to be in regular close fellowship with other believers because you cannot develop the skill of love in isolation. To learn to love you must be around imperfect, frustrating and people of different characters.

Love should be your richest priority in life. Love should always be your motive and your motivation in all you do [1 Corinthians 14:1] .This is because life without love is worthless [1 Corinthians 13:3]. Love gives you a heart for people, it gives you people to affect with your life, it is love that makes you important and it gives you good seed for good harvest. Love should be number one in our heart because only love will last forever [1 Corinthians 13:13]. It gives you lasting legacy in the heart of people. Love should be most important to us because we shall be evaluated and rewarded in heaven based on how many life we love. Spiritual maturity is measured by the quality of your relationship [Matt 25:40, Gal 5:6]. 

To make love your priority you must give it time, for time is life. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life [1 John 3:18]. Growing relationship takes time and best way to spell love is time. Love means sacrificing my comfort, goals, security, money, for others. You can give without loving but you can’t love without giving. Peace. 

PRAYER—Lord, give me a true heart of love.

“LIFE MINUS LOVE IS EQUAL TO ZERO”

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” (V. 17) NLT  God has a purpose behind every problem. God depends more on circumstances to grow our character than reading the Bible; this is because we have challenging circumstances twenty four seven. The word of God made us to see challenges in our life as normal (1 Peter 4:18). Your deepest expression of worship is mostly in the darkest days. It is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heart-felt and honest prayers to God (James 5:16). God would have kept Jeremiah from the throne to the pit, Joseph from been thrown into the jail, Paul from been shipwrecked or the three Hebrew from been thrown into the fire but he left those problems to himself.
