APPLE OF HIS EYE

APPLE OF HIS EYE Zechariah 2:4-13 Devotional:- “...for he who touches you touches the apple or pupil of His eye” (V. 8) AMPL      One of the most honourable and highly protected parts of our body is our eye. It is highly protected because of its importance and delicacy. The eye is the light of the body (Matthew 6:22, Luke 11:34). A man without sight is blocked without light. He will need to learn to see with the inner eye. Because of the importance of the eye, everyone takes time to wash it with all care and caution. When things are coming against it, wise people will always avoid it. When something little enters the eye, we become restless until it is removed. The truth is that you cannot allow anyone to touch your eye. It is a reflex action for you to close it at such times.

GROWING

GROWING

Ephesians 4:9-16
Dev:-  “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head of Christ” (v. 15)

God’s plan and desire is that we grow up. So many Christian today are growing older but not growing up. Many are stocked in perpetual spiritual infancy. This is because they never intend to grow. Spiritual growth is not automatic, it takes intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort and persist in growing. Discipleship is the process of becoming like Christ (Matthew 10:25).

In your spiritual growth, God has a part and you have a part. To be Christ-like you will need to make Christ like choices and depend on the Holy Spirit to help you fulfill those choices. The moment you are ready, you will need to let go of some old routines and develop some new habits. You will need to intentionally change the way you are thinking (Philippians 2:12-13). To work out your salvation with fear and trembling means to take your spiritual growth serious.

It is important to know that to change your life you must change the way you are thinking (Proverbs 4:23). You must deprogram and reprogram a new autopilot mind which help you to think the godly way (Romans 12:2). This is a mental shift call repentance. This mental shift demands you stop thinking immaturely and start thinking like Christ. To think maturely means start focusing on others and not yourself.

Peace!

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to choose to grow.
