HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

ACCESSING YOUR PORTION

ACCESSING YOUR PORTION

Read: Luke 18:1-8
And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? (Vs.7)

The key to accessing our portion in the kingdom of God is persistence. This is an act of faith which is not willing to turn to another quarter for solution. To persist is to pray without being discouraged until something happens. It is a decision based on the knowledge of the faithfulness of God. No matter how tough your situation may be, when you persist in prayers for your right in God, He will have no option but to give you access.

This kingdom principle is explained in the parable of Jesus. It emphasizes on a woman who persisted in asking for her portion from the judge. She got what she is looking for and went away justified. The same thing applies to children of God who persist with God. Jesus says, God will answer us speedily.

The attitude of persistence is for the determined as well as the matured. God sees persistent people as people that are qualified for their portion. Hannah persisted and sought her portion in prayers. Esther persisted and said, ‘If I die, I die’ (Esther 4:16). Daniel also persisted. All these people were given access to their portions and God answered their prayers. If you will not give up, your enemy will, and you will laugh last. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me not to give up.
