JOYFUL MAN  Ephesians 5:25-33 Devotional:- “So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself” (V. 28) NKJV Love is the summary of the great responsibility God has given to a man who wants to be happy in his home. Love is the attitude of the matured. Loving does not mean that all will be well. Loving your spouse is the act of molding and raising her for the best. That is why love in the family either to the spouse or the children should be with positive education (Ephesians 4:13-15). But love interprets so many things. Love is sacrificing time, money and self. It is creating time, money and self to help and build a united and happy home. Where there is love, there will be honour, which is the major weapon to win your wife (1 Peter 3:7). THE POOR IN SPIRIT

THE POOR IN SPIRIT

Read: Luke 6:20-23
Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: “Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. (Vs. 20)

This teachings of Jesus are referred to as the beatitudes which mean the blessings. Jesus talked about being poor in the spirit. Jesus used these teachings to enlighten us on the blessings of the kingdom of God. It looks quite different from the factors of human blessings because it is not of the kingdom of men.

To be poor in the spirit is to be meek, teachable and correctable. It is to live a life that is not over attached to anything. This is a great virtue in the sight of God (I Peter 3:4). It means, to feel empty and unsatisfied with God. It is the zeal of wanting more of God. Such people will get deeper and deeper with God.

Jesus said that it is only people who are poor in the spirit that will have the kingdom of God. This is a possessive language which means that they will be in control in the kingdom of God. They will be people of authority in the kingdom of God. They will speak and the angels of God will carry out their requests and instructions (Isaiah 66:2). They will be honorable both in heaven and on earth. They will not lose anything in this world and will still have abundance in eternity. Wake up and receive. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to know you more and better.
