CELEBRATION

CELEBRATION 2 Chronicles 30:21-27 Devotional:- “So there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem” (v.26) NKJV When we make ourselves available for the service of the Lord, we plug our lives into joy. This is because we are actually created to serve the Lord (Revelation 4:11). And when anyone finds himself doing what he is created to do, he finds fulfilment. The children of Israel in the time of Hezekiah, the king, gathered together to celebrate the feast of Passover. This was one of the feasts God commanded. This celebration is an opportunity to serve the Lord. They came together to yield in obedience to God’s instruction, and this produced great joy among them. Some cooking, some cleaning and others involved in other things just to make the feast successful. See, you need to know that you are not just created to go to school, work, earn, build a house, buy cars, have a wife, childre...

LOVE AND RESTORATION

LOVE AND RESTORATION

Read: Luke 15:11-32
For this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. (Vs. 24)

The God of this kingdom is love personified (1 John 4:7-8). That is, He Himself is love. Citizens of the kingdom of God always enjoy the demonstration of the love of God. This love attitude of God makes us enjoy forgiveness of our sins and restoration to fellowship with Him. This is not a practice in the other kingdom.

We read today about the parable of a lost son. We are used to call him the prodigal son. This parable relays the attitude of the love of God to us. It demonstrates how God allows us to make mistakes, repent of them and eventually accepts us when we return to Him.

The prodigal son demanded for his right from the father. This is how we ought to ask things from God in prayers for He always answer our prayers (Matthew 7:7-12). He has covenanted Himself to us to do so. So, be bold to always turn to Him in prayers, making your requests known to Him (Mark 11:24). In his suffering, he came back to his senses (Luke 15:17). He humbled himself, made up his mind and went back to the father to ask for mercy. Whenever you are away from God and you feel the pains, return to Him with a sincere heart and you will find forgiveness (1 John 1:7-9) and God will fully restore your joy (Ps. 51:12). Grace and strength in God can be restored. I see your joy come back to you. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, restore all that I have lost in Christ

“IN GOD, ALL THINGS CAN BE RESTORED”
