APPLE OF HIS EYE

APPLE OF HIS EYE Zechariah 2:4-13 Devotional:- “...for he who touches you touches the apple or pupil of His eye” (V. 8) AMPL      One of the most honourable and highly protected parts of our body is our eye. It is highly protected because of its importance and delicacy. The eye is the light of the body (Matthew 6:22, Luke 11:34). A man without sight is blocked without light. He will need to learn to see with the inner eye. Because of the importance of the eye, everyone takes time to wash it with all care and caution. When things are coming against it, wise people will always avoid it. When something little enters the eye, we become restless until it is removed. The truth is that you cannot allow anyone to touch your eye. It is a reflex action for you to close it at such times.

BEARING FRUITS

BEARING FRUITS

Read: John 15:1-8
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (Vs.5)

There are many parables through which Jesus illustrates what the kingdom of God is. These parables have to do with sowing of seeds (Mark 4:27, Luke 8:5). From these, we are already informed that there would be fruits.
Jesus says “I have sent you to bear fruits” (John 15:16). He said that anyone who does not bear fruits shall be cut away (John 15:2). Whoever does not bear fruits shall lose the kingdom of God (Mark 21:43). That is why you and I must be fruit-bearing Christians.

The fruits of this kingdom are fruits of repentance unto God (Matthew 3:8). They are fruits of righteousness (Matthew 7:20). The fruits are fruits of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5: 22-23) which are all fruits of godliness and wisdom of God. They also involve fruits of restful service in the house of God and fruits of soul winning (Matthew 24:45-46).

To bear these fruits, we must abide in Christ by always being conscious of His presence with us and doing His will (John 15:5). We will be able to bear fruits by acknowledging Him for divine direction and obedience (Prov. 3:5-6). We will be able to bear these fruits when we always deny ourselves to minister the gospel to others and bring them to Christ. A fruit-bearing Christian will always bring glory to God. He will always enjoy grace for more in his lifetime. Also, he will have his prayers answered. Receive grace to bear fruits in Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Lord, make me a fruitful Christian.
