A FRIEND

A FRIEND John 15:9-17  Devotional:- “...but l have called you friends…” (V. 15) In this generation, it is not a common thing to find true friends. This is someone who goes all out to see to your well-being. Someone who wants to identify with you in all situations. Someone who is not feeling fine until he sees you, someone who daily remembers to pray and intercede for you. It can be a terrible thing sometimes when you desire to share your mind with someone, and no one is willing to listen to you, or someone who could offer a little help. Sometimes we could be in need of a little encouragement, but no one to really do it. The people who are supposed to encourage us are the ones who misunderstand us and condemn us. We need to come to the understanding that God is our friend. He is not just your Lord and God. He always wants to listen to you. He is not happy when you are not (Hebrews 4:15). He is always around you. He wants to identify with you in all situations. He is not out t...

KNOWLEDGE BASED

KNOWLEDGE BASED

Read: Daniel 11:29-39
Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. (Vs. 32).

The kingdom of God is not for people who hate knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Anyone who feels that knowledge is a burden will be easily deceived by the devil. He will not be able to achieve much in God. Many have not laid hands on the constitution of their countries, not to talk of knowing what is there. You cannot do that with the kingdom of God. It is too delicate and dangerous.

The word of God says that those who disobey the covenant shall be corrupted with flattery. You know what happens when a computer system is corrupt. It will be malfunctioning. The same applies to people whose lives are without the knowledge of their God.

A major way through which God can make Himself known to man is by His word. All we need to know about God is written in His word. It is therefore our responsibility to find it out (Proverbs 25:2). You need to know what the will of God for your life is. You must find out what He wants and what He does not want. You also need to know your right in God. You need to know what to do to overcome and succeed in this wicked world. While others are running about, you will be doing exploit in God in Jesus name. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me a thirsty heart for your word.
