ASK

ASK Matthew 7:7-12  Devotional:- “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (V.11) NKJV For us to be able to enjoy the love of God as believers, we must begin to ask God for our needs. It is the principle of God that you will only have what you ask (Matthew 7:7). If you don’t speak out to ask, you may not be given. This was the problem of the senior brother of the prodigal son (Luke 15:29-32). Everything is for Him, but he had never asked for any. But the younger brother knew how to ask You must also learn how to ask. This is because you will only enjoy what you asked for. We therefore need to learn how to ask. The word ‘ask’ is not the same as beg or loan. The word asks suggests confidence and courage. It means to demand for what you are due for. It means to ask for your rights and your entitlements in God (Galatians 3:13-14). The bible is a book of covenant ...

COMPARISM

COMPARISM

2 Corinthians 10:7-18
Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT.

Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man.
Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were married and he was not married because their purpose differentiated them, then marriage was not a minus in his life. He calls the act of comparing oneself with others an act of foolishness.
Friends, get to know that you may have a classmate or schoolmate, but you don’t have a life or destiny mate. Frustrating yourself because someone just bought a car, built a house or just got married and you haven’t, is altogether foolishness. Why don’t you learn and move forward? You and the others are not running for the same goal in life. If there are things you’ve not been able to do now, you will surely do better later. It is not wrong to learn from people who have gone ahead of us, so we can forge ahead. We must understand that our times are different. If you compare your spouse or children with another, you’ve missed it. Watch out for the deception of the enemy, and you shall retain your joy.

Prayer: Lord, help me to wait for my time to come.
