LOVE DEFINED I John 4:7-11 Devotional:- “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (V.8) NKJV Today, many people have been put into great trouble simply because they are looking for love. Since the nature of man cannot enjoy living without a lover, everyone searches for one wholeheartedly. If you find anyone who says he doesn’t need love from anyone, he is not sincere. He will soon find himself in desperate need of love. Since love is a universal need, men always seek for it, and most people never find it. There are quite a lot of things men term love, which are not, and has inturn misled and confused them. Until you can define your need, you may not have them met. This necessitates the need to truly define love. The scripture we read today gave us the true meaning of love. And you will be wise to embrace the word of God. It said, “God is love” (1 John 4:8).  REMOVE SORROW


Ecclesiastes 11:7-10
Devotional:- “Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity” (v.10) NKJV

One of the strongest weapons the devil uses against our lives is sorrow. The most common problem most people have is sustaining their joy. The truth is that no one can succeed with sorrow. See, it is the goal of the devil to keep you in sorrow. When you are sad, he celebrates. This is because he knows the effect of sorrow, which most of us are unaware of.

Many things encourage sorrow in the human life; some of such are disappointment and discouragement. Some people ignorantly have sorrow because of their bitterness toward everyone, even against God and themselves. But you need to know that when you are sorrowful, you can't relate with God for solution. In sorrow, a man’s mental, spiritual and physical systems are broken down (Proverbs 15:13). It could easily lead to sickness and death (Proverbs 17:22; II Corinthians 7:10). Sorrow chases God away from you because the only atmosphere that will accommodate Him is that of joy (Psalms 16:11). Sorrow brings depression and could lead to oppression.

To be delivered from the spirit of sorrow, learn to renew your hope in God’s word. You make sure you do it daily. Be praise-ful, thankful and keep a joyful company (I Thessalonians 5:18). Keep obeying the Lord and avoid unnecessary heart-breaking news (Proverbs 25:25). Then put the things of God first (Matthew 6:33). Philippians 4:8 says that we should think or always allow in our mind things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report, praise worthy and of great virtue. Then God shall restore your joy, and your sorrow shall be no more. 

Prayer: Lord, fill me with the spirit of joy.
“WHATEVER KEEPS YOU IN SORROW HAS STOLEN YOUR SUCCESS”

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
