OUR ROCK

OUR ROCK Psalms 18:1-3 Devotional:- Lord is my rock and my fortress and deliverer…” (V.2) One of the love emblems to us is that He is our rock. He is known as the rock of ages. Because He loves us, He is always there for us. Rock is a symbol of strength and confidence. The cleft of the rock is always a beautiful place of refuge. Water from the rock is always pure and cool. As part of His love for us, He has become our rock (I Corinthians 10:4). He is the rock of our salvation, of our peace and protection. The bird eagle lives on the rock above the reach of the enemy. The water on it is refreshing and clean, far above the reach of the dust. The cave of the rock is always very cool and secure, far above the reach of either the arrow of the enemy or the scourging of the sun. This is who Jesus is for us. ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 30:1-8
Devotional:- “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God” (V. 6)

One of the ways to be stronger than the resistance of life is to learn the act of self encouragement. This is a skills you must acquire. Simply because many times in this world, people are individually busy and are all facing their own business. So expecting people to always encourage you may not be realistic.

The reason people get depressed is because they don't know how to encourage themselves whenever they are alone. Having understood that courage is a product of right and wise information we meditate upon, it then becomes easier to know where to pick up courage when there is no one to give it to you.

David simply stop weeping having remembered that the Lord was with Him and will always guide him whenever he asked for His direction. So he called for the priest to ask from God what he should do. The moment the word came from the Lord, David was encouraged to pursue. You may need to set a time aside to be with God for two or three days. Taking your Bible and other books (Proverbs 18:1) His guide will give you courage to move on. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, let your strength always increase in me.

“SELF ENCOURAGEMENT WILL ALWAYS DRIVE TO THE END”
