 JOY IN PRAYERS


I Samuel 2:1-10
Devotional:- “And Hannah prayed and said: "My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.” (V. 1) NKJV

We often fall into depression when we look around us, and all we see are unanswered prayers. It becomes worse when you are despised and mocked for that thing that you are looking up to God for.

Hannah was like that, a depressed and unhappy woman. What was Hannah’s secret that made her proclaim to all that “my heart rejoices in the Lord”?

1. She decided to look away from her oppressor
2. She went to God in prayer, pouring her sorrow to God. 
3. She made a vow to give God the child
4. She left the presence of God, believing God answers prayer. Hannah made good her vow, and her joy was full.

Are you depressed? Pour your heart to God, make a vow to him, and you will see him answer your prayers and your joy will
Come.

Prayer: Lord, help me to look up to you, not look down on myself.
