PROTECT YOUR HEART

Image
PROTECT YOUR HEART  Proverbs 4:20-27 Devotional:- “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (V. 23) NLT      Everyone is born with a strength capable of rising to greatness. In every growing child is a seed of greatness. It is this strength that makes the youth so creative and energetic. That is why each young person looks at the future with great hope. The enemy tries to destroy this strength. As strong as many started in life, not many could strike the chord of success because their strength was destroyed.

FEED ON THE WORD

Image
FEED ON THE WORD Joshua 1:6-9 Devotional:- “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (V. 8) NKJV      Man often makes the mistake of building his body but not his soul. Since man is not the body but the spirit, he that does not build his soul is weak though he is building his body.  To build your soul, you need to feed it with the word of God (James 1:21). Jesus said, “The words I speak to you are spirit and life”. In other words; it carries a spirit that will turn your life to what it should be. Information brings reformation. Information is the vehicle of the spirit.

I CAN

Image
I CAN Daniel 2:14-33 Devotional:- “So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation” (V. 16) NKJV      At creation, God invested His ability in man. Adam was like a new baby in the hand of God and God was in him. That was why the devil was jealous. Adam was another godlike being. All the great potential of the mighty God was packaged inside him, so also with you. If the potential in you is fully released, the whole world cannot contain the proof of your worth.

REVELATION

Image
REVELATION Galatians 2:1-6 Devotional:- “And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain” (V. 2) NKJV      One of the benefits of the relationship with God is that you increase daily in the knowledge of His word. This gives you joy and delight in your Christian walk (Psalm 1:2). When you see a growing Christian, he will be happy and full of excitement about his adventure. On the contrary, Christians who experience dryness in their relationship with God don’t find joy and peace in their lives.

MANIFEST PRESENCE

Image
MANIFEST PRESENCE Acts 10:34-43 Devotional:- “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (V38) NKJV      In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve experienced the Shekinah (manifested presence) glory of God. Some believers today Wonder how wonderful events take place in the lives of other believers than themselves. Sometimes, they think it is because they are more prayerful; but that is not so. What makes the difference is the presence of God.

WALKING WITH GOD

Image
WALKING WITH GOD Genesis 17:1-8 Devotional:- “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless” (V. 1) NKJV      God did not create us for fluctuating experiences in life. That some days are okay, and the other days are not well cannot be the plan of God for His children. God’s word says the path of the just is like a light that is ever getting brighter (Prov. 4:18). Abraham and his wife at a time decided to walk out of the will of God because of their challenges. They wanted to see if they could help God’s Covenant promises to come to pass. But when the case began to boomerang, God called him to order and charged him to walk perfectly before Him.

TIME WITH GOD

Image
TIME WITH GOD Luke 6:12-16 Devotional:- “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God” (V. 12) NKJV      You need to know that it is the breath of the Almighty that created you. His Spirit dwells in you from the very moment you believe. Therefore, the more time you spend with your source the stronger you will be just like a fish will gain more strength when it is in water, so you are when you walk with God. He said we can of our own do nothing (John 15:5). You are here on assignment for him; He saved you to use you for His glory in the world (Isaiah 43:21). You will be wise to create quality time to be with Him.

PEACEFUL BLESSING

Image
PEACEFUL BLESSING Joshua 7:16-26 Devotional:- “When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it” (V.21) NKJV      God demonstrated His mighty power and delivered the children of Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and He brought them to their promised land. But as soon as they took over the promised land, a small nation defeated them in battle and they were embarrassed. They didn’t know that one man had just wrongly acquired wealth among them which set God against them. Then God allowed their enemies to defeat them. When an inquiry was made, Achan was discovered to have taken and hidden what God said they should not touch. He wanted to be smart enough to get rich quickly, not knowing that it was the way of destruction.

DON’T AVENGE

Image
DON’T AVENGE I Samuel 26:7-21 Devotional:- “The LORD forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the LORD's anointed. But please, take now the spear and the jug of water that are by his head, and let us go" (V11) NKJV      Every man who is offended always wants to avenge. That is what the canal nature teaches us, but the word of God teaches us not to avenge ourselves (Romans 12:19).

SEE THE WAY

Image
SEE THE WAY Revelation 3:7-12 Devotional:- “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” (V. 8) NKJV      Several times when the children of God pray for open doors, they should rather pray for the opening of their eyes (Ephesians 1:17-18). Many people are suffering amid plenty. Someone said, gold is everywhere but few open their eyes to see it. Jesus said” l am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Jesus has the key of David and that is unfailing key. The master key (Revelation 3:17).

WHAT DO YOU SEE

Image
WHAT DO YOU SEE Genesis 15:1-6 Devotional:- “Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be" (v. 5) NKJV      God has built in each of us a wonderful mind that is capable of producing the strength for our victory. That is why the enemy works hard to always corrupt our minds with negative information. But you and I have the responsibility of guarding our minds.

SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

Image
SWORD OF THE SPIRIT Hebrew 4:6-13 Devotional:- “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (V. 12) NKJV      A sword is an important weapon of battle. It is a major weapon your enemies see and get scared, know that with it, you can kill and overcome. A sword is too delicate to play with. So those who go to war know that it is important. It will therefore be dangerous as a Christian that you live your life in this world of battles without a sword.

HELMET OF SALVATION

Image
HELMET OF SALVATION 1 John 5:1-5 Devotional:- “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith” (V. 4 )NKJV      God is a victorious God. So, when a man is adopted into sonship with God, the spirit of victory enters into him. This is what a man receives at new birth. God’s word says, that as many as believe in Him, He gave them the power to become the sons of God (John 1:12). The power of God that makes a man to become a child of God comes with strength for victory. So God’s word says whatever is born of God wins.

SHIELD OF FAITH

Image
SHIELD OF FAITH Hebrew 11:30-40 Devotional:- “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days” (V. 30) NKJV      No one can handle any of the weapons of the Spirit successfully without faith. Shield of faith is one of the major weapons that works to establish our hearts in victory. Thank God for the ministry of prophets, but that has turned many weak and there is no need to grow in faith forgetting that the minister cannot always be with you. That therefore necessitates your personal growth.

GOSPEL OF PEACE

Image
GOSPEL OF PEACE Mark 13:3-11 Devotional:- “And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations” (V.10) NKJV      Believers need to understand that the gospel is one of the weapons of our victory. Jesus said until it goes around the world, the end may not come, and we need to ask ourselves why. This is because the more you preach the gospel the more you are strongly established in the light of the gospel. You don’t lack what you share. Even the devil will identify you as the true disciple of Christ.

BOLDNESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Image
BOLDNESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS Proverbs 28:1-7 Devotional:- The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion” (V.1) NKJV      No atom of weakness can overcome the devil. Unrighteousness is his attitude, so unrighteousness cannot confront him (1 John 3:8). You must realize that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). That is why you cannot afford to be weak. Always remember that our fight is a fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). Christ has defeated the devil on the cross (Colossians 2:15). We have been given the victory of Christ because Jesus is in us by His Spirit that is in us (1 John 4:4). Christians who toil with sin will soon face disgrace; so, Beware! One of the strengths you need to put on for victory as a Christian is the boldness of righteousness. God’s words call it the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14). This is a strange level of confidence; the scripture says it commands bo...

MUSCLES OF TRUTH

Image
MUSCLES OF TRUTH John 8:31-36 Devotional:- “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (V. 32) NKJV      One of the muscles of victory in this world is the knowledge of the truth. This is not just what we read in the Bible or listening to in a sermon. It is not about going to church or attending a prayer vigil. It is not even a Sunday school teacher or a Pastor. The knowledge of the truth is not given to anyone just because they are Christians but because they are in search of it.

BE STRONG

Image
BE STRONG Ephesians 6:10-20 Devotional:- “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (V. 10) NKJV      Victory in this world is not given just to the aged, it is given to the strong. Part of the New Testament Covenant of God for believers is victory (1 John 5:4). But believers must realize that spiritual strength is not what we acquire because we like it. It is a commandment of the Lord. God’s word says “Be strong in the Lord”. That is not a suggestion or an advice, it is a commandment.

MAKING MONEY

Image
MAKING MONEY Genesis 47:13-23 Devotional:- “And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought; and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house“ (V. 14) NKJV      Believers in this part of the world have long been in darkness over the importance of money making. But recently God made us know that we can prosper. However, as we come to greater maturity through the light of the gospel, we must move from the level of expecting someone to give us to the level of growing in wisdom to make money.

LOW INCREASE

Image
LOW INCREASE I Corinthians 3:5-10 Devotional:- “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” (V.6) NKJV                                    It is very much natural that when we plant, we should expect a harvest. God has ordained it to be so (Genesis 8:22). When you sow grains of maize, you are normally expected to reap curbs of it, this is the right phenomenon. But sometimes it happens that you put in so much to reap a little. This is the reverse of what God has ordained. However. loss of such has set fear in the hearts of many people and so they are even afraid to invest in anything again. But this should not be so.

FINDING YOUR LOVE

Image
FINDING YOUR LOVE Proverbs 18:22-24 Devotional:- “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD” (V. 22) NKJV      Love is one of the most essential things to human life. No one does not desire to be loved. Even animals want to be loved and the greatest gift you can give to anyone is love. Amid love, do you know people could offer their best? Wounds are easily healed in the atmosphere of love. Do you know that if you truly love someone, and you discipline that person in the atmosphere of love, he will not feel it? Many things are easily covered under love (Proverbs 10:12).

MISTRUST

Image
MISTRUST I Samuel 15:20:30 Devotional:- “And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore” (V. 27) NKJV      Relationships have remained one of the most important factors in human lives.  As much as relationship is important there is a disease that could easily destroy relationships. This happens mostly in marriages and families. This disease is mistrust. When people can no longer trust themselves the problems in a relationship can be difficult to amend.

STUBBORN CHILD

Image
STUBBORN CHILD Judges 14:1-3 Devotional:- “Then his father and mother said to him, "Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?" And Samson said to his father, "Get her for me, for she pleases me well" (V.3) NKJV      One of the terrible things the devil is doing in the world today is to enter into the hearts of some children and turn them into stubborn children. Such children would not want to listen to their parents. Some of them in their teenage years have become husband to their mother. Some of them will even want to beat their parents. The word of God already says in the last days children shall be disobedient to parents (2 Timothy 3:2). But as for your children, God shall help them.

TRAP OF ADULTERY

Image
TRAP OF ADULTERY Proverbs 6:20-29 Devotional:- “For by means of a harlot A man is reduced to a crust of bread; And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life” (V. 26) NKJV      The terrible trouble the enemy has put into the lives of some people is adultery. Through this so many lives have been ruined. It is a product of weaknesses or lack of self-discipline in the five senses which have allowed demons to enforce it on the soul. So many young and dynamic brains have been turned into dustbins. So many destinies have been destroyed (Proverb 7:6-14). So many homes have been turned to holes, love has been turned to hatred, many integrities have been stolen, and financial giants have been turned to paupers. Many greatness has been destroyed and many mighty men have fallen.

DESTROYING DELAY

Image
DESTROYING DELAY I Samuel 1:9-20 Devotional:- “And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth” (V.12) NKJV      Sometimes in the life of a child God, there could come a time of delay. This is when God’s promises seem foot-dragging, and expectations are not fulfilled when expected. When you have been praying about some situations and nothing seems to change. Sometimes such periods defy all kinds of wisdom and if care is not taken such a person’s faith could become cold. Such times are for you to grow strong enough to receive and retain your inheritance in God.

PREVAILING OVER POVERTY

Image
PREVAILING OVER POVERTY II Corinthians 8:1-12 Devotional:- “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (V. 9) NKJV      There is no one poverty doesn’t want to rule over, but everyone prevails over it by working their way out of it with wisdom. God’s wisdom is stronger than poverty. The wisdom of this world is weak. Today a larger percentage of the population of the world is still poor. Over 80% are poor while 20% could be called the rich. I believe, in our time, that figure will change. You will also be listed among the rich in Jesus name.

HOPE DEFERRED

Image
HOPE DEFERRED Job 14:6-9 Devotional:- “For there is hope for a tree, if it’s cut down, it sprouts again and grows tender new branch” (V. 7) TLB      The challenge of life could weigh a man down beyond his faith and bring him to the level of hopelessness. Many people today have no hope of good things happening to them anymore. They have been waiting on God for quite sometimes and their hope is getting wearied.

LOW FAITH

Image
LOW FAITH Luke 17:5-10 Devotional:- “And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith” (V. 5) NKJV      Sometimes in life, we face overwhelming challenges. According to God’s word, we know we need faith to overcome them, but our faith could be low. This happens to believers because we don’t regularly stand in the victory Christ has given us (Ephesians 6:13).   The enemy often wants to attack us at the period and the places of our weakness. Some children of God allow their faith life to leak because of anxiety and care for the things of the world. Please, be aware that the enemy will always take advantage of your period of sleeping in faith.

SPIRITUAL DRYNESS

Image
SPIRITUAL DRYNESS Judges 16:18-28 Devotional"= However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven” (V.22) NKJV      A man who is strong and deep in faith could sometimes have spiritual dryness. This is a period when faith seems to have vanished, A period when you as a leader want to read your Bible and it looks as if it is all erased. You wouldn’t even see any revelation in it. A period when you want to spend a good time praying and you end up thinking and pondering upon your problems. Prayer time becomes boring, and in such time, it could seem better for you to sleep than to pray. Your mind becomes so empty and carries no power to impart no one. No one likes to witness such a season but it does happen. You only need to know how to avoid and get out of such a situation.

CONSCIENCE

Image
CONSCIENCE II Samuel 24:2-10 Devotional:- “David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, LORD, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing” (V. 10) NIV      God has given every human a conscience. This is a part of your mind that tells you whether what you are doing is right or wrong. Conscience can have a positive effect and can also have a negative effect. Some people want to avoid condemnation in their hearts and so destroy their conscience. The positive effect is very good, it keeps us away from evil. God put it there to help us flee from evil and love one another. It helps us to fear the Lord.

SETTLING YOUR DEBT

SETTLING YOUR DEBT  II Kings 4:1-7 Devotional:- “Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest" (V. 7) NKJV      The word of God says the borrower is a servant to the lender, and so many people are dying under the yoke of debt today. Some now live their lives in shame because of debt. So many friends have been separated by debt. Because of debt, some people can no longer pass through their villages, towns, or streets. Many have lost their peace and sleep, not knowing what will befall them.
