RELEASING OTHERS

RELEASING OTHERS Matthew 18:21-35   Devotional:- "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses” (V. 35) NKJV Men can easily shout, “Away with him, kill him,” to others because they are not the offender. Very many parents will bitterly discipline their children for an offence they too have committed in the past, for which they were not killed. It is always easy to be a judge, though most judges cannot stand the face of trial. That is why the word of God instructs us not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-6). The scripture we read today reveals the wickedness of men. A man who owed his master so much, just like we all owe God so much. He was forgiven by his master, but cannot forgive his fellow servant. He rather locked him up in police custody for torment. His master heard and also reversed his decision on him for judgement.  Friend, who are the people you have refused to forgive? No matter what they...

THE LORD

THE LORD

1 Peter 3:1-6
Dev: “as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.”  (vs. 6)

Most believers are not truly aware that they have not consider the implication of having a Lord. So many people think Jesus is their Lord and it is not so. They think Jesus is their Lord because they attend a church or because they bear Christian names or because they are born into a Christian family or because they have church titles. But none of these make people to have Jesus as their Lord. Some think because they confess Jesus as their Lord when they first believe or because they always sing it as songs. But none of these are true. That is why Jesus said it's not all who call or see me as their Lord that will inherit my father’s kingdom (Matt 7:21-23)

For Jesus to be your Lord you must consciously make this decision from the heart (Rom 10:8-10). This is because a lord is someone that has total control over every aspect of your life. A Lord is someone you must not disobey. He approves and disapproves all your decisions (Proverbs 3:5-6) A lord is someone you have sold yourself to as a slave and you have made him your master, and you are to always submitting to him (Matthew 10:25, Luke 5:5, John 13:16)

It is important you ask yourself if Jesus is your Lord. If Jesus is not a lord over a soul then that person has another lord it is the devil (John 8:44). There are only two lords, Jesus and the devil. Friend it's time to make up your mind who will be the Lord of your soul (Rom 6:16) Just like Sarah chose Abraham as her lord, chose Jesus as your Lord. Peace.

Prayer: Lord help me to truly choose you as my Lord.
