DON'T BLAME GOD

DON’T BLAME GOD James 1:12-20 Devotional:- “And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else” (V. 13) NLT Today, there is so much confusion the enemy places in the heart of men to make them feel that God hate them. So, when people are under the pressure of the flesh to sin, they say “God is tempting me”. When people are weak, they are going to face temptation through their flesh. It wil be wrong to say God is tempting you with sickness or troubles. Yes, God knows about it but He only allows it when we have been warned repeatedly and we refuse to change. He disciplines, but it is necessary for us to know that God is not the author of evil, that is the work of the devil (Hebrews 12:6; Matthew 4:24).  There is a difference between a test and temptation. To test means to examine or observe if someone is capable of doing something. To tempt means to entice or lure someone into doing some...

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

1 Corinthians 12:1-12
Devotional:- “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit” (v. 4)

As stewards of God, the gifts of the spirit has been invested into our lives when we are baptism in the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16). It is not given to us by merit that is why it is called gifts (Ephesians 4:7). It is the Holy Spirit that determine what each person should be given (1 Corinthians 12:11). Because God loves varieties and want each one to be special, no single gift is given to everyone and no one have all the gifts so that we can need each other. The gifts are given to each of us for the benefit of others (1 Corinthians 12:7).

The operation of spiritual gifts can be divided to three parts. The first is the Revelational gifts which includes; Word of wisdom (it reveals the divine purpose of God - Genesis 6:13-18, Acts 11:28), Word of knowledge (it reveals the facts in the mind of God - Acts 9:10-12); Discerning of spirits (it helps us to identify the spirit at work wherever we are - Luke. 13:11-13).

The second are Power gifts which includes: Gift of Faith (This enables us to supernaturally have assurance and confidence in the power of God in any situation - Mark 4:37-39; John 11:41-44); Working of Miracles (it enables us to carry out acts contrary to natural laws - John 2:1-8; Luke 9:16-17); Gifts of Healing (Mark 1:29-31, Mark. 3:3-5).

The third are the Utterance Gifts: Gift of Prophecy (I Corinthians 14:1-5, 22-25, 39-40), Diverse Kinds of Tongues (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46). Interpretation of Tongues (Daniel 5:25-28, 1 Corinthians 14:13, 26-28). The word of God instruct us to activate these gifts and this is by prayer and fasting, effective service, laying on of Hands, faith and worship (2 Timothy 1:6-7). Use these gifts as faithful stewards of Jesus. Peace

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a blessing to others with your gifts

“GOD MADE YOU TO BE A BLESSING WITH HIS GIFTS”
