DON'T HATE

DON’T HATE Matthew 5:43-48  Devotional:- “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,” (V. 44) NKJV The subject of love is not always easy to practise between you, and those who have shown themselves as committed enemies. Those who will openly stand against you. Those who just hate you for no reason. Those who don’t pray that anything good should happen to you. Yet the Bible gave us a commandment in the midst of it all to love and never to hate them. What a great task! But until a Christian grows to this level, he cannot actually be called mature. The way to handle it is that we should bless those who curse us. Always do good to those who hate you. If they are moved by the spirit in them to do evil to you, be moved by the Spirit in you to love them. We cannot truly say we love till we can prayerfully demonstrate the character of love. In your time, consciously me...

BE VIGILANT

BE VIGILANT

1 Peter 5:5-11
Devotional:- “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (v. 8) NKJV

Just as a soldier on the battlefield, so are Christians in this world. From the day you confessed Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you have departed from the camp of the devil to that of Jesus (1 Peter 2:9). And these are the camps that are ever against one another, just like light and darkness cannot coexist.

So you, as a Christian, must not be weak or insensetive. You must be vigilant. The word vigilant means to keep your mind to be at alert. It means you must be sensitive. It means you must be ready. To be sober simply means to humbly accept the responsibility of battle. This is because God has not promised us a battle-free life. If the devil is looking for people to destroy, it must not be you. So you must be equipped to the teeth.

You must have a good understanding of your weapons of war, which are the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus and the mentality of what these weapons are all about. You must also put on the whole armour of God, which includes the truth, breastplate of righteousness, gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit. Never be caught unaware. These weapons will never fail. Don’t watch the devil messing up with your life and family. Without faith, none of these weapons can work (1 John 5:4). Set your faith to make them work, and they shall work for you. The enemy shall lose in your life.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to always be on alert.
