THE HEART OF WORSHIP

THE HEART OF WORSHIP Romans 6:1-14 Devotional:- “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (V. 13) Since worship is our first purpose on earth we need to know that worship will not be worship if we don’t surrender to God. So, surrendering is the heart of worship. In our world today, surrender sound negative. It could mean to give up or losing or admit your defeat. But it is giving ourselves to God not out of fear or necessity but in love (1 John 4:9-19). Three things often attempt to block our mind from total surrendering to God, fear, pride and confusion. As kingdom citizen, please know it that you must learn to trust God. A woman will not be able to surrender to her husband if she does not trust him and so also you to God. To truly surrender to God, you must admit your weaknesses and limitations. That is when you truly want to ask ...

TAKING THE WORD

TAKING THE WORD

Ephesians 6:1 0-18
Devotional:- “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God” (V. 17)

God’s children today need to know that faith is a work and we need to labour to enjoy its manifestation (Hebrew 4:11). We will need to labour

To enter into our rest in God. Faith is that labour. We need to know for instance, faith will not just be there in our hearts and we need to learn how to generate it. If not, it could fail. Just like a power-generating set cannot supply energy until it has generated it, so is our faith. It has to be generated to deliver.

To generate faith demands that you take the word. That is, you consciously sit to locate God’s word that addresses your situation and meditate on how it solves the problem. This is because faith comes from the word of God (Romans 10:17). The word that transports faith in many cases is the word God speaks into your spirit. It takes obedience to the word to deliver a sure result. When you receive a word from God, and then meditate on it you will find a quickening power of the word active in your heart (Joshua 1:8). At such time you are also sure your result shall be a success.

When you face a challenge, the first thing to take is the word. The first question to ask is, Lord, what do I do? That is why your spiritual ear must be sensitive to hear God in every situation. Don’t wait to train to hear God only when there is a need. This you should do in every situation. Then you will be used to it (Proverbs 3:5-6). Your ear of the spirit will be opened when you create time regularly to fellowship with God with an open mind. When you can get this right, you will surely get the expected result. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to always hear the word in my situation.

“UNTIL YOU HAVE THE WORD FOR THE SITUATION, YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL”
