GOOD SHEPHERD

GOOD SHEPHERD John 10:11-16  Devotional:- "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gave his life for the sheep”. (V. 11) Shepherds are one of the most caring people on earth. They value the lives of the sheep. They risk their life many times to save the life of the sheep. They follow the sheep wherever they go and lead them To green grass where they enjoy fresh food for their nourishment (Psalms 23:1-6). Their presence comforts and secures the sheep. They cannot tolerate the loss of any of them. So they watch over it so dearly. If anyone is missing, they take pains to look for it till they find it, and when it is found, they celebrate it (Luke 15:4-7). So also is the love of Jesus to you. He is your good shepherd. That is why He laid down His life for you. He died that you might live. He cares for you (I Peter 5:7). He cannot afford to see you in suffering. Whatever you are passing through now is for your glory (Romans 8:18). Everything shall turn to your testimony (Luke...

SACRIFICE OF FAITH

SACRIFICE OF FAITH

Genesis 22:1-14
Devotional:- “And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son” (V.10)

Until men are ready to follow God at all costs, we may not yet see His best (Isaiah 1:19) NIV. Was Abraham mad? No, he was not. He was just willing to follow God no matter what it may cost.

God suddenly called him one day that he should take the only son he had waited for a hundred years and sacrifice him unto Him. Even though Abraham had waited so long to have Isaac yet, he knew God was not wicked but only wanted to show him another miracle he had never seen before. He concluded that God was able to raise Isaac back to life and he was willing to see the miracle of resurrection for the first time in his life (Hebrew 11:17–19). He knew God had said in Isaac shall your seed be called, so he concluded it must be time for a miracle.

Friend, what is God asking you to sacrifice? He can be replaced a thousand times. See, until your sacrifice of faith goes to God; His real treasure may not open unto you. Abraham stepped out by faith and you can step out by faith also. When Abraham did, he stepped into the covenant of greatness. You are about to step into yours. Don’t let any material hold down your destiny. God will surely test each of us by asking us to lay down something. It is only people who are willing to lay down that can pick up their greatness in God. No matter how the instruction may be, step out by faith and God will step in.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to step out to obey you.
