PROTECT YOUR HEART

Image
PROTECT YOUR HEART  Proverbs 4:20-27 Devotional:- “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (V. 23) NLT      Everyone is born with a strength capable of rising to greatness. In every growing child is a seed of greatness. It is this strength that makes the youth so creative and energetic. That is why each young person looks at the future with great hope. The enemy tries to destroy this strength. As strong as many started in life, not many could strike the chord of success because their strength was destroyed.

STRENGTH IN YOUR WEAKNESSES

Image
STRENGTH IN YOUR WEAKNESSES 2 Corinthians 13:1-6 Devotional “For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you. (V.4)      Everyone has weakness in all spheres of life. In fact, each of us has a bundle of flaws and imperfection physically and spiritually. What matter most is what we do with them. Normally, we often want to deny, defend, hide, resent and give excuses about them. But that way God will not be able to use them for our benefit (Proverb 28:13). God do not want to use only our strength but also our meanness for His Glory (1 Corinthians 1:27). Realize God want to bless the weak (Matthew 5:3) Note that it is the first thing God bless.

LIVING WITH PURPOSE

Image
LIVING WITH PURPOSE Proverbs 19:16-23 Devotional – “You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail” (v. 21 NLT)      Living on purpose is the only way to really live; everything else just merely exists. Most people struggle with these three questions in life; WHO AM I? (Identity); WHY AM I MADE? (Purpose); WHAT IS MY PLACE IN LIFE? (Impact). The answers to these entire questions are found in five Gods purpose for you. Now that you know God’s purpose for your life, it is important you live in it.

WORLD CLASS CHRISTIAN

Image
WORLD CLASS CHRISTIAN  MARK 16:14-20 Devotional:- "And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (v. 15)      There are two types of Christians in the world: The world class Christians and the worldly Christian. You are either in one of these groups. The worldly Christians look to God primarily for personal needs. They are saved but self-centered. Their prayer focuses on me first and focuses on their needs, blessings and happiness or comfort. They want to use God for their purpose instead of been used for Gods purposes. “Jesus sent us to reach the world, be part”.

SHARING YOUR LIFE MESSAGE

Image
SHARING YOUR LIFE MESSAGE 1 John 5:6-13 “He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son” (v. 10)      It is important we know that when we become believers we also become God’s messengers. God want to speak to the world through you (2 Corinthians 2:17). As messengers of Christ we must be willing to share the gospel wherever we find ourselves. Our life messages have four parts. Your life message includes your testimony. This is the story of how Christ has made a difference in your life (1 Peter 2:9). True witnesses are to simply reporting what happen to them or what they saw. These are all about; what my life was before I met Jesus, how I realized I needed Jesus; how I committed my life to Jesus, the difference Jesus has made in my life.

YOU ARE A MISSIONARY

Image
YOU ARE A MISSIONARY John 17:6-19 Devotional “As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (V. 18 NLT)      God is working all over the world and He has made you to be part of His work. It is the assignment of God for all Christians that is called Mission (2 Corinthians 5:20) Fulfilling your mission on earth is the fifth purpose of your life. Mission means been sent and every Christians is sent by the Lord (John 20:21). When we are saved, we become members of God’s family and the mission of Jesus becomes our mission.

HOW SERVANTS THINKS

Image
HOW SERVANTS THINKS Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” [v. 24].      To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. They keep in mind that God owns it all.

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

Image
HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” [v.43].      The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed.

USING WHAT GOD GIVES YOU

Image
USING WHAT GOD GIVES YOU ROMANS 12:3-8 DEV. “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another” (V.5)      God who has made each of us and expect us to make the best use of what he has given us. Instead of envying others’ SHAPE, He wants you to be happy using the one he has given you. Your first step for been the best with your shape is to locate as many as possible gifts and special abilities in your life. Make a list out of them and ask which of them you have seen result and others do confirm [Ephesians 5:17]. The best way to discover your best is by excising them in serving God, and then you will discover your good area in life.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR SHAPE

Image
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SHAPE JER 1:4-12 DEV:- "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." (V.5 NLT)      As a people crated to serve the Lord, God has design each of us in a unique way to be able to serve Him. We are so uniquely created that no one can find your duplicate. If you don’t contribute your part to the body of Christ God will make a replacement. [Act 1:20].

DESIGNED TO SERVE GOD

Image
DESIGNED TO SERVE GOD  Psalm 139:13-18 Devotional “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!” (V16 NLT)      God designed and formed you to fit into what He wants you to do to serve Him. The intended function determines the form of a building, so also your life. You are the way you are because you were made for specific ministry (Ephesians 2:10)

MADE TO SERVE GOD

Image
MADE TO SERVE GOD   1 Corinthians 3:5-17 Devotional – “For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. (V.9 NLT)      God put you on earth to make contributions and make a difference with your life. Another purpose of your life is to serve the Lord wherever you are. You are created to add to the earth and not just to take from it. This purpose of your life is called ministry or service.

NOT AUTOMATIC

Image
NOT AUTOMATIC Philippians.1:1-11 DEV—“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (V.6 NLT)      Knowing fully well that spiritual growth is one of your purpose of been on the earth, then you also need to know that developing Christ-like character takes years, it is not automatic. We open to God bit by bit. Discipleship is the process of conforming to Christ (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:13). The truth is that the journey to Christ-likeness is a life time journey. Growth involves believing, belonging (through fellowship) and becoming (through discipleship). Every day God want you to become a little more like Him (Colossians 3:10)

TRANSFORMED BY TROUBLE

Image
TRANSFORMED BY TROUBLE 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 Dev:- “For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” (V.17NLT)        God has a purpose behind every problem. God depends more on circumstances to grow our character than reading the Bible; this is because we have challenging circumstances twenty four seven. The word of God made us to see challenges in our life as normal (1 Peter 4:18). Your deepest expression of worship is mostly in the darkest days. It is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heart-felt and honest to prayers God (James 5:16).

FACTORS OF GROWTH

Image
FACTORS OF GROWTH  Deuteronomy 8:1-10 Dev. “So He humble you, allow you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your father’s know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord” (VS. 3)      Spiritual growth is the process of replacing lives with the truth (John 17:17). To become like Jesus we must fill our lives with his word. (2 Timothy 3:17). The word of God is powerful, so when God speak things change. To be a healthy disciple of Jesus you must feed on the word of God. This is what it mean to abide in Christ and Christ in you. This is by remaining in the word of God and obeying the word.

GROWING

Image
GROWING Ephesians 4:9-16 Dev:-  “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head of Christ” (v. 15)      God’s plan and desire is that we grow up. So many Christian today are growing older but not growing up. Many are stocked in perpetual spiritual infancy. This is because they never intend to grow. Spiritual growth is not automatic, it takes intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort and persist in growing. Discipleship is the process of becoming like Christ (Matthew 10:25).

BECOMING LIKE CRIST

Image
BECOMING LIKE CRIST ROM 8:18-30 DEV:- “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the first born among many brethren” (V.29)      The third purpose of your life is to become like Christ. From the very beginning God intend to make man to be like Himself (Gen 1:26). So like God, we are made a spirit and our spirit lives the body. We are intellectual, we can think and solve problems. We are relational, i.e. we can give and receive love. We also have a moral conscience to discern right from wrong which make us accountable to God.

PROTECTING YOUR CHURCH’S FAMILY

Image
PROTECTING YOUR CHURCH’S FAMILY James 3:13-18 Devotional – “Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace” (v.18)      Understanding that the second purpose of God for man is to belong to the church family, there is therefore a strong need for you to protect the unity of your church. Unity is the soul of fellowship. Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than the church because he paid the highest price for it and He wants to protect it.

RAISING GODLY FELLOWSHIP

Image
RAISING GODLY FELLOWSHIP  Ephesians 4:1-6 Devotional – “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (v.3)      It is only the Holy Spirit that can raise true and godly fellowship of believers but He uses the committed members of the body of Christ who make themselves available [Ephesians 4:3]. It is by God’s power this is possible but we must choose to commit ourselves to the work of the kingdom wherever we find ourselves either in the school or in different community on earth.

PURPOSE OF HIS FAMILY

Image
PURPOSE OF HIS FAMILY Ephesians 2:14-22 Devotional “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,” (v. 19)      It is important you know that you are created for fellowship and formed for family. No one can fulfill the purpose of God alone. That is why God created a family for His children called the church. There will belong to one another forever [Rom 12:5]. Your earthly family cannot continue to care for you but God has made the church a place for each of us to find love for ever.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

Image
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING  1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Dev “Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love”. (v.13)      In belonging to God and his family the most important thing is love. Because God is love and the most important lesson He wants us to learn is how to love. It is in loving that we look like Him. Loving makes you obey all the laws of God [Gal. 5:14]. God wants us to love everyone but particularly members of His family [1 Pet 2:17]. A major reason God wants us to specially love members of His family is because He wants His family to be known for love more than any other thing [John 13:35]. God want us to be in regular close fellowship with other believers because you cannot develop the skill of love in isolation. To learn to love you must be around imperfect, frustrating and people of different characters.

FORMED FOR GODS FAMILY

Image
FORMED FOR GODS FAMILY HEBREWS 2:5-18 Devotional – “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings” (v.10)      The second major purpose of your creation is that you are formed for Gods family [1 John 3:1] God wants a family and he wanted you to be a part of it. The entire bible is full of the story of God building a family that will love him, honor and reign with him forever [Ephesians 1:5] NLT. God is love, so he cherish relationship [1 John 4:7-8]. The nature of God is relational and that is why He identifies himself in fatherly terms; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WHEN GOD SEEMS DISTANT

Image
WHEN GOD SEEMS DISTANT Isaiah 8:11-18 Dev. “And I will wait on the LORD, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him” (V.17)      God is real no matter how anyone feels. Since we are made to worship God whether it is going well or not we must always give all the glory to Him. It is easy to worship God when things are going well, but situations are not always pleasant. That is why we must learn to always give God glory in all situations. The richest of worship is during pains or trails. We must learn to trust God, surrender and love God when we don’t feel his presence.

FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD

Image
FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD Romans 5:1-11 DEVOTIONAL – “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Vs. 10)       As a kingdom citizen please known that God wants to be your best friend. This is because intimacy is part of your act of worship. It is true that God is our maker and redeemer yet he wants to be our friend. Remember we were made to live continually in God’s presence but it is sin that makes us loose that [Gen 3, Roman 3:23]

THE HEART OF WORSHIP

Image
THE HEART OF WORSHIP Romans 6:1-14 Devotional: “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (V. 13)      Since worship is our first purpose on earth we need to know that worship will not be worship if we don’t surrender to God. So, surrendering is the heart of worship. In our world today, surrender sound negative. It could mean to give up or losing or admit your defeat. But it is giving ourselves to God not out of fear or necessity but in love [1 John 4:9-19]. Three things often attempt to block our mind from total surrendering to God, fear, pride and confusion.

MAKING GOD HAPPY

Image
MAKING GOD HAPPY Numbers 6:22-27 Devotional:- "May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you" (V25 NLT)      One of the goals of our life is to make God happy. This is because the goal of worship is to make God happy. A man can make God happy when he pleases the Lord in all His ways. Job was a man who pleases the Lord in his life time [Job 1:8]. Noah was another man who also pleased God in his generation [Genesis 6:8]. We are living for the glory of God when we live to make God happy by pleasing the Him.

MADE TO GLORIFY GOD

Image
MADE TO GLORIFY GOD Revelation 4:1-11 Devotional “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created” (V11)      The first major purpose of your life is to bring glory to God [Isaiah 43:21]. That is why it is built into your sub-conscious mind to worship. When you understand the place of worshipping God in all things, you will no longer feel insignificant. Bringing glory and pleasure to God is what we called worship. God is always happy with those who worship Him [Psalm 147:11]. Please note that anything you do to bring glory, honour or pleasure to God is an act of worship. We are wired by God to worship. If you don’t worship God, you will worship yourself.

RIGHT VIEW

Image
RIGHT VIEW  Matthew 25:14-30 Devotional:- “And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey” (V.15)       Please note that there is a way that you view life. The truth is that your view of life goes a long way to determine how you invest your time, money talents and value your relationships. People see life from different perspectives. Some sees life as up and down. Some see life as a game so they always play as it comes; some sees life as a place of party, so regular party becomes their priority. Those who see life as battle will have winning as their priority.

REHEARSAL FOR ETERNITY

Image
REHEARSAL FOR ETERNITY Ecclesiastes 3:9-15 Devotional:- “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end” (V.11)       It is important you realize that life here is a rehearsal for eternity. Just like you spend nine month in your mother’s womb, but that was a preparation for the real life, so also is life here compared to eternity. No matter how many years you spend here it is not up to one percent of eternity.

LIVING IN YOUR PURPOSE

Image
LIVING IN YOUR PURPOSE Ecclesiastics 4:1-6 Devotional “Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind” (V.4)       One of the most frustrating things in life is when people don’t know what exactly to live for. In that case they just live doing whatever they find others living for.

NOT AN ACCIDENT

Image
NOT AN ACCIDENT Isaiah 44:1-5 Devotional - “Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen” (V. 2)      In discovering the purpose of your creation, it is important that you know that you did not evolve accidentally. You are a product of the conscious plan of God. The word of God says before we were formed in our mother’s womb, He knew us.  This means, before you were in the womb of your parent you were first in the womb of the mind of God [Jeremiah1:5]

YOU ARE FROM GOD

Image
YOU ARE FROM GOD Colossians 1:9-18 Devotional: “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him” (V. 16)      One of the greatest troubles of human life is people living out of their purpose. Until you find your purpose and fit into it, life will continue to be a struggle. Locating the meaning of human life is one of the greatest adventure someone can embark on. This is because when the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable. That is why the human life is so abused today.
