And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing” (V. 8) NLT When a person turns to the Lord, invite Jesus to his/her life, and surrender to Jesus as Lord and saviour, then he/she sincerely becomes a Christian. This is the state many in the church has not attained. You are either in one of these groups. The worldly Christians look to God primarily for personal needs. They are saved but self-centered. HOW SERVANTS THINK Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional:- “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” (V. 24). To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43). The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (V.5 NLT) As a people crated to serve the Lord, God has design each of us in a unique way to be able to serve Him. We are so uniquely created that no one can find your duplicate. If you don’t contribute your part to the body of Christ God will make a replacement. (Act 1:20). Look at the meaning of your shape the letter “A” represents your SPECIAL ABILITY. These are special abilities and talents given to you from birth. DESIGNED TO SERVE GOD Psalm 139:13-18 Devotional:- “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!” (V. 16 NLT) God designed and formed you to fit into what He wants you to do to serve Him. The intended function determines the form of a building, so also your life. You are the way you are because you were made for specific ministry (Ephesians 2:10) Our scripture today simply means nothing that happens in your life is insignificant. God will never waste any ability unless He intend to use it for His glory (1 Peter 2:9) Before God will give you any assignment, He must have packaged you for it. So many Christian today are growing older but not growing up. Many are stocked in perpetual spiritual infancy. This is because they never intend to grow. Spiritual growth is not automatic, it takes intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort and persist in growing. Discipleship is the process of becoming like Christ (Matthew 10:25). In your spiritual growth, God has a part and you have a part. To be Christ-like you will need to make Christ like choices and depend on the Holy Spirit to help you fulfill those choices. Unity is the soul of fellowship. Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than the church because he paid the highest price for it and He wants to protect it. RAISING GODLY FELLOWSHIP Ephesians 4:1-6 Devotional:- “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (V. 3) It is only the Holy Spirit that can raise true and godly fellowship of believers but He uses the committed members of the body of Christ who make themselves available (Ephesians 4:3). It is by God’s power this is possible but we must choose to commit ourselves to the work of the kingdom wherever we find ourselves either in the school or in different community on earth. So, surrendering is the heart of worship. In our world today, surrender sound negative. It could mean to give up or losing or admit your defeat.
