MADE TO GLORIFY GOD

MADE TO GLORIFY GOD Revelation 4:1-11  Devotional:- “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created” (V. 11) The first major purpose of your life is to bring glory to God (Isaiah 43:21). That is why it is built into your sub-conscious mind to worship. When you understand the place of worshipping God in all things, you will no longer feel insignificant. Bringing glory and pleasure to God is what we called worship. God is always happy with those who worship Him (Psalm 147:11). Please note that anything you do to bring glory, honour or pleasure to God is an act of worship. We are wired by God to worship. If you don’t worship God, you will worship yourself. We often see some things as worship and others as none. We think we go to worship service but worship is more than just been in the church. It is a life style. Worship is more than music or a particular style of music. To some people when ...

BUILD THE ALTAR

BUILD THE ALTAR

SCRIPTURE: 1 KINGS 18:32-40
DEVOTIONAL: “And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, "Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood." (Vs. 33).

Anyone who wants to relate with God for effective prayer must build an altar of prayer. This altar is built in the heart. In the Old Testament, it was usually built in particular places where God’s presence dwelt and was called the temple of God. However, in the New Testament, the Bible says that we are the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16). If we are the temple of God, then the altar is in our hearts.

As a man of God, Elijah used to prepare the altar of God before praying, by arranging stones, putting wood and the meat of sacrifice with water. That was why before he finished calling on God, fire came down. To build the altar of God in our hearts, we must put those necessary materials together. The wood represents the word of God (Prov. 26:20), the stone represents Jesus who is the word Himself (John 1:14), the water represents the word of God and the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-38, Isa. 55:10-11).

It is important to always gather the covenant word of God to pray with before praying. This is the reason the Bible tells us to let the word dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16). When the word of God dwells in you, you will have the right covenant words to remind God when you pray. Then your prayers will always be answered in Jesus’ name. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart for the word of God.

“WHERE THE WORD IS, THE FIRE WILL NOT GO DOWN”.
