SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. ASKING AMISS

ASKING AMISS

SCRIPTURE: JAMES 4:1-6
DEVOTIONAL:- “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (Vs. 3).

One of the reasons some believers ask and not receive is that they ask amiss. To ask amiss is to ask with a wrong or negative motive. Our intention cannot be hidden from the Lord. Though, we are human, God remains God. The flesh in us sometimes want to have worldly pleasures and it is not wrong. It is only wrong when it is contrary to the purpose of God because it becomes a sin afterwards.

Pleasure mentality makes a man irresponsible. Most of the sinful acts in our community today are perpetrated in the quest for pleasure. This is the reason why some people engage in extra marital affairs. The truth is that, as children of God, we are created for His pleasure as well as the things of the kingdom (Rev. 4:11).

Friend, always x-ray your motives before you ask God for anything in prayer, so that your prayers will not be hindered. Whatever you are asking for, whether in your life, family, work, church, etc. the motive should be to use it for the glory of God. Everything you do should be done to bring glory to God (1 Cor. 10:31). As you do that, your prayers will always be answered. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to always have the right heart before you

“THE BEAUTY OF PRAYER IS THE ANSWER”.
