They can be used as a picture of yourself. You will notice that a lot of the time you have the privilege of conversing with people, something just keeps pushing you to continue talking until you overdo it. Then you’ll begin to say what you don't mean to say. Many a time, the volume of words that come out of our mouths is not what we have planned for or decided, but because we have not learned to caution our lips, which is an act of discipline. NOT OFFENDED

NOT OFFENDED

SCRIPTURE: LUKE 7:18-30
DEVOTIONAL: “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me." (Vs. 23)

It is reality today to say that many supposed Christians are already feeling offended by God. On Sunday morning, if you go out when people are in churches, you will discover that many Jeremiahs and Joshuas are at home because they have stopped going to church. Though, they were born in the church, they have stopped attending church services because they are angry with God.

Some people who have waited on the Lord to have solutions to some problems in their lives often withdraw from the fellowship of believers because they feel God has not given them answers to their prayers. This will never bring solution to any situation of man.

Friend, the reason this happens to some of us is that we have not yet completely dedicated our lives to God. People really need to know that God is greater than all men and our needs. Anyone who truly wants to follow God must be ready to go through a time of test (Deut. 8: 2-3). This is a time when it looks as though God has forgotten us, when we are faced with challenges of life. This is just a period when our determination to follow God is tested.

No matter what you may be going through, devote yourself completely to God. This is not because you need anything from Him, but because He is your God. If you stick to God because you want Him to meet your needs, you will soon be offended in Him. Decide to follow Him for who He is and He will always answer your prayers. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me not to be offended in you.

“THE EVIDENCE OF DEDICATION IS THE WILLINGNESS TO SERVE AND WAIT ON GOD, NO MATTER WHAT”.
