  DELAY Proverbs 13:10-20 Devotional:- “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (v.12) NKJV Another strong factor militating against the joy of some people today is delay. This is an experience of expectation proving longer in coming than expected. It makes a man afraid or uncertain of what the future holds. It often weakens the faith of people and makes them feel disappointed. The word of God in our scripture today says it brings weariness to the soul. We must realise that weariness given by delay is a hindrance to our receiving from God. The more we allow weariness, the more we may be delayed. It is a trick of the enemy to keep postponing our miracles. That is why the word of God says the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). It is also a threat to our joy. The enemy knows that joy produces our physical, mental and spiritual strength, so he always want us to celebrate sorrow (Nehemiah 8:10). Friend, you must therefore be wise to know...

LOVING THE KING      1 John 4:12-21 Devotional: “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (V. 16)             Anyone who want to be part of the kingdom of God must be willing to love the king of the kingdom. Those who do not love the king cannot have the best of the kingdom. The foundation on which the kingdom of God is built is love. That is why it become so important for all in the kingdom to build in the foundation of love. This is so important because God is love (1 John 4:7-8)

PRESS INTO IT       Luke 16:14-18 Read: "The law and the prophets were until John: Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it” (v. 16)             When you want to build a house, you will need a landed property. You cannot just jump on any land and start building, since it is not your own. You will need to first buy a landed property. Even when you buy it from the right owner, yet there are forces that will want to hinder you from building. That is why you must be strong (Ephesians 6:10)

GREATNESS IN THE KINGDOM     Mark 10:35-45 Devotional: “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (v. 43)               The God of this kingdom is great and everyone who is a citizen of the kingdom of God has a heritage of greatness (Luke 1:32). This is not just a mere statement, it is the covenant of God for His people (Genesis 12:1-3, Galatians 3:13-14). That is why you must wait on Him to receive your own vision of greatness.

CHALLENGES    l Corinthians 10:6-13 Read:  “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (v. 13)      One of the easiest ways to make us learn and grow in the wisdom of God is by God taking us through challenging seasons. During challenges, the devil will always want to make us feel that God does not love us. The Bible says, he that the father love he chastise. Because of the season of difficulties, many have turned back from the Lord and have followed the devil.

SUCCESS    Psalm 1:1-6 Devotional: “He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” (v. 3)            As God’s kingdom citizen, our success is inevitable. No matter what the situation may look like today, you will surely succeed. Why am I so sure? It is in the plan of God to give you success (Jeremiah 29:11).  VICTORY      Revelation 12:7-12 Devotional: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (v. 11)        Everyone who is a citizen of the kingdom of God has an inheritance of victory. Jesus on the cross for our redemption has purchased eternal victory for us (John 16:33).  That is why, no matter what we may be experiencing anytime or anywhere, it will always end up in victory for us (1 John 5:4).

ROLE OF THE CITIZEN     Revelation 11:15-19 Devotional: “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"” (v. 15)    In every kingdom, the citizens have responsibilities they must be involved in. There are benefits for a citizen to enjoy in the kingdom he/she belongs, but there are also enormous responsibilities to be carried out. When you see a citizen suffering in his country, he probably may not be doing what he ought to do to enjoy the blessings of the country.

STRENGTH IN THE KINGDOM       Psalm 84:1-12 Devotional: “They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion” (v. 7)      The strength that the kingdom of God supplies to the life of the citizen is by the word of God. The word of God is the power of God. It is through the word that God creates (John 1:1). God made us like Himself, to be able to bring forth things by His word. The word is the power of God to heal and to deliver (Psalm 107:20). So many children of God have not understood the power of the word of God. Some are still confused about it.

Everywhere such people turns to they carry around this atmosphere. They don’t get polluted by the atmospheric condition but influences everywhere with the atmosphere they carry around.

THE SPIRIT OF THE KINGDOM  Romans 8:5-17 Read: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (v. 14)      The Spirit of this kingdom is the Holy Spirit. You need to know that the Holy Spirit is a person. He is the mover of the kingdom of God on earth. As a temple and domain of Jesus, you must let Him move you too. (Ephesians 5:18). A man that is not yielding to the Holy Spirit will be dead i. e. separated from God. (Romans 8:2)

FOUNDATION OF THE KINGDOM     1 Peter 2:1-10 Read:  “Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame."” (v. 6)    Jesus laid the foundation of the kingdom of God we are in today. He has brought us in as a domain of God. (Colossians 1:13). This foundation was laid by the blood He shed on the cross of Calvary. This is the major reason He died on the cross that we might be brought in and be purchased into God by His blood. (Revelation 5:9-10). This foundation was prophesied by the prophets in Isaiah 28:16, 8:14.

ESTABLISHING THE KINGDOM       Luke 4: 42-44 Devotional: “But He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent" (v. 43) NKJV    It is important that we know that the kingdom of God can only be established as we preach the word of God (Luke 10:8-9, Romans 1:16). That is why we should preach the gospel with boldness and the love of God in our heart. It is when the Spirit of God takes over the heart of a man that his life become the place where Jesus rules (Romans 8:14). What is therefore the relevant of preaching the gospel?

FELLOWSHIP      Hebrews 12:18-24 Read:   “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels” (v. 22)    The devil is doing so much now to discredit the ministers of God before the people, how much more the fellowship of the children of God. It has become where some go whenever they like, some just feel like staying in the house on Sunday and others are offended in their fellowship.

QUALIFICATION     John 3:1-8 Read: “Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (v.5)    For anyone to be part of the kingdom of God, he/she must be born of water and of spirit. Without this, no one will be qualified to be part of the kingdom of God. So many people are praying that Jesus should come early, but they do not always check if they are qualified. To be born of water is to be born of the word of God. The Bible liken the word of God to water (Isaiah 55:10, John 15:3, Ephesians 5:26). It purges wrong things out of our mind. Information can reform, renew and refine. (Romans 12:2).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE HOLY SPIRIT   1 John 5:1-8 Read: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (v. 7) KJV      The Holy Spirit is not just a mere spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity of God (1 John 5:6-8). In other word, He is the spirit of God. He is a personality like Jesus who go about doing good (Act 10:38), He dwells in us. (John 14:17). Do you know that the father, the son and the Holy Spirit cannot be separated? The word of God says, they are one. So, if the Holy Spirit is in you, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is in you (1 Corinthians 3:16).

THE SON         John 10:31-39 Read:- “do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?” (V. 36)      Jesus is the visible image of the Godhead that we have seen in the flesh (Colossians 1:15, John 1:14). He is one with God (John 10:30). Don’t ever look at the word of God from the religious point of view; else it will not profit you. Jesus is the word of God (John 1:1-3), He is the light of life (John 1:4). Light illuminates or make of quick understanding. Without the light of life, nothing will be achieved on earth.

FAITH    Hebrew 11:1-6 Read: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (v. 6)      The affairs of the spirit realm completely depend on faith. In the spirit realm, things are not visible, so, you will have to believe they are, to experience them.  The moment you don’t believe, you already believe the opposite and the devil will take advantage of it (2 Corinthians 2:11). That is why we must live as Jesus lived by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

THE FATHER       Luke 11:1-8 Read:- “So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven” (V. 2)    One of the reasons most people don’t understand the kingdom of God is because they do not see God as a father. Jesus came to connect us to God as our father. The reason for this is because they consider God to their earthly father who does not mostly operate by fatherly principles. The reason some can’t take God as a father indeed is because they feel He does not care for them (1 Peter 5:7). They feel, they pray and He does not answer. That is why so many people silently feel disappointed in God (Luke 11:5-8).

CITIZEN OF THE KINGDOM

CITIZEN OF THE KINGDOM    Philippians 3: 17-21 Read: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (v. 20)      There are only two kingdoms in the realm of the spirit and dual citizenship is not permitted. The two kingdoms are; kingdom of God and of the devil, Kingdom of light and of darkness, Kingdom of righteousness and of sin, Kingdom of goodness and evil. If a man is not a citizen of the kingdom of God, he is automatically a citizen of the kingdom of the devil. That is why some people, though they go to church, yet will not be in heaven with Jesus (Matthew 7:20-23)

KINGDOM ADVERSARY      1 Peter 5:6-11 Read: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (V. 8)          So many people live as though they don’t have an adversary. That way, the devil takes advantage of them before they know it (2 Corinthians 2:11). Every kingdom have adversary and that is why no nation jokes with their military force that are always inside or outside.

LIFE IN THE KINGDOM         Mark 10:13-16 Read: “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it” (V. 15)      Every kingdom has its own life style. The way they live in this country is different from the way they live in other countries. In some countries, cars are made with the steering by the right side, in others, left sides. In some countries you have to drive on the left side and in others on the right. To enjoy your stay in any land, you must learn and abide by the life style or culture of the land.

THE CONSTITUTION     2 Timothy 3:10-17 Read: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (v.16)      Every kingdom operates with a constitution. It is the knowledge of the constitution that gives the citizen their rightful place in the kingdom. Many Christians are under the torment of the enemy today because; they do not know the governing rule or their right in the kingdom of God (Hosea 4:6)

KINGS OF THE KINGDOM     Revelation 5: 8-14 Read: “And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth” (V. 10)     In the kingdom of God, Jesus is the King of kings, but there are kings (Revelation 19:16). These are the ones who stand for Him in places on the earth. These are His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). These are His representatives on the earth. These are the ones who rules over the forces of darkness by faith in Christ Jesus (Mark 16:17-18). These are the ones who are taking territory for Jesus.

THE KING OF KINGS      Revelation 19:11-16 Read: “And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (V. 16)      Every kingdom has its own king. This is the set man who rules and determines what happen in his own kingdom. His words are final. God who made the heaven and the earth has committed the rulership of the kingdom of God unto the Lord Jesus (John 5:22). That is why He is called the King of kings.

PURPOSE OF THE KINGDOM      Revelation 21:1-8 DEVOTIONAL: “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God” (V.3)    God is love. Love is not just His attitude; He is love personified (1 John 4:7-8). This means, love is His nature. That is why wherever God is; love will be there and vice versa. The word of God says, whoever do not love does not know God (1 John 4:8). True Love is of God. He made us to love us. That is why He will not just destroy man totally no matter what.

WHERE IS THE KINGDOM?               Luke 17:20-23 Devotional:- “nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you" (v.21)            The domain or territory of the kingdom of God is in the heart of men (Act 17:24). God is a spirit and He dwells in the heart of men (Proverbs 23:26). The kingdom of God is therefore in the heart of men and it does not have a geographical limitation like that of the kingdom of men.

TRICKS OF THE DEVIL          Luke 4:1-13 Devotional: “And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'“ (v.8)        Jesus came to the world to establish a kingdom for God (John 18:37). This is because; God is the owner of heaven and the earth (Psalm 24:1). God made this world for the fulfillment of His plan and for His glory. But the devil has cunningly turned the world against God. The whole world lives under the deception of the devil (1 John 5:18-19). His approach is to give man pleasure and establish his kingdom and rulership in their heart. He has been using this trick from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:2-6). And people who are in quest of pleasure often sacrifices their long time blessing for a short time pleasure.

UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM       Philippians 2:5-11 Devotional:-  “and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (v. 11)    The kingdom of God is where God rules and reign. The word kingdom is from two words combined - ‘King’ ‘domain’. The domain of a king is what is called his kingdom. The word domain means territory or sphere of influence of a ruler. The kingdom of God is wherever God rules. Since God is the creator of the earth, He wants to rule everywhere.

And today people are beginning to think that fruitlessness is a defect in the creation of man. So, most people are beginning to count it as natural to be fruitless. But we need to ask ourselves if there were defects in God's creation. Why should it be that it is only in human we often find such defects? How many goats or dogs have you found barren? Are we saying the same word of God spoken that brought the creation of all things has failed on the side of humans?  If you accept it as your lifestyle, it is your choice.

COURAGE Joshua 1:1-9 Devotional:- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
