Proverbs 25:21-28

I need to let you know that one of the enemies you must overcome in life is yourself. If not, you cannot successfully rule over anyone in this world. This is enough weapon in the hand of the enemy to keep disqualifying some people from getting to their place of destiny in life.

To rule yourself means to be the one in control of your life. If other people still have to control you before you do well, it means you are a slave in your mind. And that is not the will of God for you. This also means the ability to determine to do what you should do and keep doing it till you succeed is in you.

You need to know that many things in life want to control your life negatively, even your body. You will observe that many times you love to do something, and eventually you do not do it. It is a product of a lack of self-control. It is one of your greatest enemies. You must learn to say no to many things in life. Things like idleness, spending all the time jesting and watching videos. Sometimes you don’t feel like going to work and just feel like sleeping all day. These are factors of failure (Proverbs 6:9-11). The Bible says, if you live this way, you are a city without walls that is open to any sudden attack of the enemy. Friend, start to say no to tell your body what it should do. Paul said. “I put my body under subjection” (1 Corinthians 9:27). Your body should not control you. Rise up and be strong, and you will succeed.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be able to rule myself.

“IF YOU KEEP FOLLOWING THE DESIRE OF YOUR BODY, IT WILL KEEP DRIVING YOU NOWHERE”
