It is of great importance that man should programme his thinking system for security and purpose. Many of us have not been able to define what we are actually here to do and face it. Many people who lack understanding and have made themselves animals awaiting their day to be slaughtered. One of our mentalities that needs to be changed is the purpose of food.
The scripture we read today gave us a beautiful knowledge of food. Why do we need to eat? The scripture spelt it out that it is for strength and not for pleasure. It will take wisdom to understand this. This does not mean you should not enjoy your meal, but you should know that the most important thing is that you are eating a combination of what will strengthen your body to fulfill your destiny, and not just the taste. Many have destroy the good body God has given them because they give themselves to eating whatever and anything. Many just follow what the public is consuming and never ask if what they are eating or drinking is destructive or building them. Some don’t know how to say “no” or “yes” when invited to eat or drink anything.
Friend, this has brought down so many kings and presidents of nations; this has become a major means of trap by the forces of darkness (Proverbs 31:4-7). As much as we have God’s protection over us, we should be very careful about what and where we eat. Do you know that food is good for your faith? A man who doesn’t eat adequately will suffer malnutrition. But don’t become a slave to any particular food. So many people eat everywhere. Some people’s mouths eat for 24 hours. So, they’ve become too big for their destiny. Watch out! (1 Peter 5:8). Don’t sell your destiny for food (Genesis 25:28-34).
Friend, if you hate food, you hate life. But what is important is that you discipline yourself. Stop eating everywhere. Life is more important than food (Matthew 6:25). You will not fail.
Prayer: Lord, deliver me from the
weakness of my belly.
“THE PURPOSE OF YOUR EXISTENCE IS FAR
MORE IMPORTANT THAN FOOD, WATCH OUT”
