 SUBMIT TO HIM


John 14:12-24 

“Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (V. 23) NKJV

 

Sometimes on the platform of love, there is nothing men cannot offer to one another. If you truly love a man you will not want to reject or disobey him. You will want to do as much as it is in your capacity. You will not want to turn him down. Can you imagine how strictly you want to keep to an appointment with a loved one? If we have attached so much importance to responding to our lover, how much more God.

If you truly love God it will be natural for you to submit to His will. You will not need to argue or ask too many questions. It will be a pleasure submitting to His will. Jesus said in the scripture we read today, if anyone loves me he will keep my words. In other word he will submit or obey my word. Then the reward here is that the father will also love such one in return. That is why it is wisdom to obey God’s will (Matthew 7:24-27).

This now challenges you to observe if you truly love God. You can weigh this by the level of your response in obedience to His instructions. God’s word says, then the father (God) will then make a home with such one (John 14:23). So many things are against many Christians today but they do not ask, is God with me, in my room, in my office, in my heart? God’s word says, If God be for us who can be against us” (Romans 8:31). If we keep obeying Him, He will be with us and nothing will be able to withstand Him in us. The level of your submission to God’s will determine the level of His presence with you, and that determines the level of our protection in Christ. Peace!


Prayer: Lord, grant me grace to always obey your instructions.

“OBEDIENCE COMMANDS HIS PRESENCE, HIS PRESENCE COMMANDS PROTECTION”

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
