RELEASING OTHERS

RELEASING OTHERS Matthew 18:21-35   Devotional:- "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses” (V. 35) NKJV Men can easily shout, “Away with him, kill him,” to others because they are not the offender. Very many parents will bitterly discipline their children for an offence they too have committed in the past, for which they were not killed. It is always easy to be a judge, though most judges cannot stand the face of trial. That is why the word of God instructs us not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-6). The scripture we read today reveals the wickedness of men. A man who owed his master so much, just like we all owe God so much. He was forgiven by his master, but cannot forgive his fellow servant. He rather locked him up in police custody for torment. His master heard and also reversed his decision on him for judgement.  Friend, who are the people you have refused to forgive? No matter what they...

COURAGE

COURAGE

Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:1-9 NKJV
Devotional:- “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (V. 7)

A major virtue in the life of every conqueror is the virtue of courage. This is an act of having faith in one’s ability to face a challenge or situation. A timid can achieve nothing. That is why the word of God said, God has not given us the Spirit of timidity (2 Timothy 1:7). It is our meditation upon the testimony of the word of God that births courage in us (1 Samuel 17:36, Joshua 1:8).

To be encouraged is to locate back your courage. You need to know the source of courage to succeed and overcome in this wicked world. Those who do not know the way of courage will be defeated in every battle of life. In the scripture we read today, God commanded Joshua to be courageous. He showed him the way to courage, which is by meditating in the word of God. It is the information we meditate on that can instill courage in us to act.

Courage is a conviction in our mind of the ability in us to conquer. It is a product of information in which we put our confidence. It is a conclusion in our heart about our strength. That is why our courage should be in the word of God. That is the only sure word (2 Peter 1:19). The ability of the Holy Spirit is in you. You only need to fan it to flame by meditating the word of God (2 Timothy 1:6). And your courage will grow again. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, encourage me by your word
